A little after four in the afternoon, a private plane landed at the Indigo Plateau.
Chen Shi, Steven, Cynthia, Lance, Lorelei, and the others stepped out of the cabin.
Professor Oak and Agatha walked ahead of them.
They had come to the League headquarters to select their rewards.
Besides a Pokémon Egg, each of the top eight contestants could choose one reward from a League vault.
However, they would be entering Vault Three, while Chen Shi would be going to Vault Two.
The eight of them followed the two big shots quietly the whole way.
After they entered the League headquarters building, Professor Oak unlocked an elevator with his card and pressed the button for the fourth basement level.
After that, the group lost track of how many times their identities were verified or how many heavy metal doors Professor Oak unlocked.
At last, they arrived outside a room built entirely from specially manufactured metal.
"This is Vault Three. You take them in to choose their rewards. I'll take Shi farther inside."
Professor Oak looked at Agatha beside him and spoke with a smile.
"Hmph!" Agatha snorted without another word, took a white card from inside her clothes, and swiped it across the sensor by the door.
A green light came on, and the metal door, over fifty centimeters thick, swung open.
"Everyone except that little brat, go inside. The top eight can choose one item, the semifinalists can choose two, and the runner-up can choose three."
The corner of Chen Shi's eye twitched. Who else could Agatha mean by "that little brat" but him?
Still, he did not dare react. He could only pretend he had not heard and stand there obediently.
She was a big shot, after all. She could say whatever she liked.
