Just as Chen Shi was lost in thought, a Poké Ball at his waist opened on its own.
Little V came out and flew straight to his shoulder, settling down with practiced ease.
Chen Shi came back to his senses and looked apologetic. "Sorry, Little V. I was thinking about something and forgot about you for a moment."
"Bimi~"
Victini shook its head, unbothered. It hadn't been inside for long anyway, so it didn't care at all.
Seeing Victini suddenly appear, Shate and his companions were utterly shocked.
When Chen Shi first appeared, they had seen that blue-green magical beast materialize out of nowhere.
But at the time, they had assumed that the blue-green magical beast could conceal itself.
They simply hadn't noticed it before.
Now another magical beast had suddenly appeared, leaving Shate and the others stunned.
They exchanged glances, having no idea how this powerful, mysterious man had done it.
But they didn't dare ask. After a brief look, they immediately averted their eyes and stood quietly.
After a while, Chen Shi stood up and asked softly, "What are you doing here?"
Shate immediately replied, "Sir, winter is almost here, but our tribe is still nowhere near having enough food stored up."
"Once winter comes, it'll be very hard to find food outside, so we can only gather as much as possible before it arrives."
Chen Shi nodded gently in understanding. "Could you take me along?"
He paused, then continued, "I imagine there are plenty of dangers in this forest. I can protect you."
At his words, Shate and his companions all froze.
They had never imagined that the powerful man before them would offer to help them find food.
He had even offered to protect them?
Shate didn't let this sudden windfall go to his head.
