Rayquaza's gaze flickered. After some thought, it said gravely, "I can't really answer that question. It might have something to do with strength, or it might not."
"But I think the reason Xerneas and I noticed it quickly and could put up some resistance might have something to do with our divine roles. Beyond that, I don't know."
"Divine roles?" Understanding dawned on Chen Shi.
That seemed right. Both Rayquaza and Xerneas held divine roles. Perhaps that was why they had been able to hold out for so long.
"That makes things a little difficult..." Chen Shi sighed softly.
Only a handful of Legendary Pokémon held divine roles, after all. Lugia and Rayquaza, for instance, had others of their kind, but only one of each held a divine role.
Besides, what could all the ordinary Pokémon in the Pokémon world possibly use to resist it?
The more Chen Shi thought about it, the more terrifying this thing seemed.
