Chapter Summaries

Chen Shi discovered that Arceus had sent him to the Hoenn Region rather than ancient Sinnoh, and wondered what he was meant to do there. Meanwhile, Cynthia questioned Jirachi and Mew about Chen Shi’s past, but Mew stopped short after recalling that a person with the same psychic power had concealed their face.

• Chen Shi asked Shate about Bagon and learned that Shate had rescued Little Blue near Meteor Falls.
• Chen Shi realized he was in the Hoenn Region, not Hisui, and wondered why Arceus had sent him there.
• Cynthia asked Jirachi about its memories of meeting Chen Shi, but Jirachi recalled little beyond playing with him and receiving a wish.
• Mew reassured Cynthia that Chen Shi would survive and tried to trade details about the past for ice cream.
• Mew began revealing that someone a thousand years ago had psychic power identical to Chen Shi’s, then remembered that the person had never shown their face.

Chen Shi offered to help Shate’s tribe gather food in exchange for being taken back to their settlement and learning about the area. After arriving in the unfamiliar era, he sent Metagross, Charizard, and Dragapult to collect prey and Oran Berries while he shared Pokéblocks with the others.

Using the false name Autumn, Chen Shi searched Meteor Falls for the Draconids but found only Pokémon. On his way out, he encountered a rampaging Salamence that fled after Dragapult struck it, and Chen Shi decided to follow it.

• Chen Shi told Neo that he would teach Shate how to capture magical beasts, then left the tribe to explore the area.
