"Oh, right, thank you, Manectric..." Cheng Tian had just turned to thank Manectric, only to see its back as it slowly walked away.
"Froga..." Frogadier looked at Cheng Tian, somewhat bewildered. Cheng Tian shrugged in confusion too.
"Lair." Lairon tried lifting its thick forelegs to move, but looked rather uncoordinated. Before it had taken two steps, it wobbled and nearly fell.
"Take it slowly," Cheng Tian said helplessly. "You've only just evolved. You haven't adjusted to your body yet, and you're very weak too."
"Lair." Lairon was unconvinced. It refused to believe it couldn't even control its own body. In the end, just as Cheng Tian had said, it fell after only a few steps...
"See..." Cheng Tian walked over helplessly and crouched down, taking the Heavy Ball from his waist. "You really are stubborn. Come back and rest for a while." With that, he recalled Lairon into its ball.
The dark clouds that had scattered somewhat overhead began gathering again, constantly releasing arcs of electricity.
Cheng Tian had accomplished what he had come for. He could head back now.
"Phew... finally done..." Cheng Tian let out a breath, then looked at Frogadier.
"Thanks for all your hard work. Have a good rest when we get back."
Counting it up, he had been here for half a month already. Time flew. In another half month, he would have to go back.
"Hmm... but is it really okay to just leave like this?" Cheng Tian suddenly hesitated again. Logically, heading back now was the best choice, but opportunities to visit the Pokémon League were rare, and chances to train at Trial Peak were rarer still. It would really be a shame to head straight home like this.
