"Are you messing with me?" Su Han frowned and spoke telepathically. "How could the murals be here? If you don't take us to see the real murals, we won't give you your freedom."
I'm not lying to you.
Virizion spoke earnestly.
The flash flood earlier washed down the murals that were originally on the mountain. All the ones carved into the mountainside have been destroyed. Only this one was different. It was set apart, carved onto a black stone slab like this, so being buried underground did it no harm.
Whether you believe me or not, the murals you wanted to see have already been destroyed. This is the only one left.
"Hey, Xiaohan, look. There really are some things drawn on this." Cheng Tian walked over curiously and crouched to examine it.
Inscrutable writing was carved into the black stone slab. Rough lines outlined one area after another, with several mysterious totems scattered across them. Everything looked wondrous, but what caught Cheng Tian's attention most was still the enormous figure at the top of the slab.
"Ho-Oh?!" Cheng Tian cried out. Those enormous, colorful, peacock-like tail feathers clearly belonged to Ho-Oh.
Su Han also came over and crouched down, studying it closely. The mural's overall composition was arranged vertically. Ho-Oh above scattered feathers freely over those below, seemingly bestowing protection.
Su Han's brow furrowed deeply. Unlike her mother, she did not understand the meaning of these ancient inscriptions and could only make a rough guess at what the mural depicted from its imagery.
"Hmm..." Su Han took out her phone and snapped a picture, seemingly intending to search online for similar inscriptions.
Just then, Virizion glanced at the two of them.
This mural tells of the Super-Ancient Civilization.
"The Super-Ancient Civilization?" Su Han froze.
Virizion nodded, then began explaining.
