Background / History

Su Han transfers from Magic City to Bingzhou after her father moves for work. Her family is wealthy, and she travels with a driver, Uncle Wang. Although she initially expects Bingzhou to be backward, she comes to appreciate its relaxed streets and welcoming atmosphere, contrasting them with the impersonal bustle of Magic City 24 26 35.

Before their school reunion, she helps Cheng Tian at a toll booth while he is dirty from his trip into the wild. His clear eyes remind her of her mother’s, giving her a favorable impression of him before she even learns his name 15 20 21.

Uncle Wang remarks that she does not make many friends. After the placement exam, however, she happily recalls spending the afternoon with Cheng Tian, Bai Yun, and Lin Lin. The four subsequently become classmates and form Group Three 26 27.

Childhood and Family

Although introduced as a transfer student from Magic City, Su Han was born in Bingzhou and moved away before reaching school age. Photographs kept by Granny Zhang reveal that Su Han and Cheng Tian were together as very young children, although neither remembers those encounters 137 481.

Her mother, Huo Qian, dies while Su Han is too young to understand the circumstances. Su Mulin initially tells her that her mother died of a serious illness. Her paternal grandfather, Su Youquan, raises her for substantial periods while her parents are occupied with Huo Qian’s research and the events surrounding Giratina 356 494 508 510.

Su Youquan is the chairman of Su Group Co., Ltd. and dotes on his granddaughter. Her family’s resources include a head bodyguard, Xiao Ye, a Hongqi L5, and a luxury-car escort. Su Mulin chooses a political career rather than inheriting the family business 354 355 466.

Education and Training

Su Han initially considers selecting a Mixed Team specialization so that she can remain with Cheng Tian. He encourages her to pursue her own strengths, noting that all her Pokémon at that point have the Fairy type and that she wants to specialize in it. She reluctantly agrees that their training should take priority over attending the same classes 157.

She later gains a place in an overseas tournament despite not finishing among the top five, explaining that her father’s connection to Grandpa He apparently secured the opportunity. Before departure, she plans to train in the wild with Cheng Tian and evolve Vulpix 269.

She subsequently enters Magic University’s Battling Specialization. During a later stay in Bingzhou while Cheng Tian is away for further training, she completes the paperwork to become a temporary teacher for second-year Pokémon Studies students at Bingzhou No. 1 High School 371 494.

Discovery of Huo Qian’s Past

While staying at Granny Zhang’s home, Su Han finds her mother’s keepsakes and two diaries in a rusted tin box beneath the bed. The entries include Huo Qian’s pregnancy, her choice of the name Su Han for a daughter, and fragments of the events preceding her death 506 507 508.

The diaries contradict the explanation that Huo Qian died from illness. Su Han confronts her father, who finally tells her that Giratina killed her mother. After hearing how Huo Qian sacrificed herself to seal Giratina, Su Han embraces her grieving father and resolves to uncover the full truth and make Giratina pay 508 510.

Her investigation later brings her to Huo Qian’s former teacher, Du Jiancai, and to ancient texts in the Pokémon League Library. During the final confrontation with Giratina, the Griseous Orb allows her to witness her mother pouring Aura and life force into the seal firsthand 622 634 690.

Appearance

Personality

Su Han is outwardly gentle and courteous, but her friendliness does not always imply closeness. Lin Lin observes that she is polite to everyone yet noticeably warmer toward Cheng Tian. Around him, her reserved manner gives way to teasing, spontaneous shopping, and playful demands 25 34 35.

She is confident in her academic performance. The placement exam feels easy to her, and she reports taking first place “same as always.” She is less enthusiastic about compulsory service tasks: because she can afford TMs directly, she considers earning exchange points an inefficient way to obtain them 21 26 44.

Maintaining a proper young-lady image matters to her. Although she loves stinky tofu, she fears that being seen eating it will damage that image. When Cheng Tian discovers her purchase, she stages a misleading photograph and threatens to post it unless he keeps her secret. She also samples food sparingly because she worries about gaining weight 33 34 50.

Her interest in Cheng Tian develops through affectionate attention and occasional jealousy. She dislikes Chu Jiaojiao’s flirting with him, becomes upset when he denies that they are a couple, and is delighted that he continues wearing her gift. Their early relationship is explicitly described as friendship, before Su Han recognizes that she has fallen in love with him 24 34 35 43 65 66.

Despite wanting to confess, she initially fears that rejection would cost her their friendship. Her affectionate behavior becomes increasingly deliberate: she arranges outings, looks after his meals and sleep, and cares for him during illness. After their mutual confession, she becomes much more openly affectionate and eager to spend time together 67 92 95 133 140 141 233.

Her attachment does not prevent her from supporting his ambitions. Although separation makes her unhappy, she tells Cheng Tian that she will endure loneliness if further training helps him pursue his dream. She also works hard in private to keep her own Pokémon from falling behind him 462 506.

Su Han has a fierce protective side beneath her gentle manner. Threats against Cheng Tian provoke intense anger, including her appeal to her grandfather after learning that the Liu family targeted him, her intervention against Virizion, and her reckless attacks on Darkrai while Cheng Tian is unconscious 427 531 569.

Her mother’s death remains a deep emotional wound. Learning the truth transforms her grief into a determined investigation of Giratina. Nevertheless, when Jirachi cannot restore her mother, she chooses the immediate safety of Cheng Tian and their Pokémon, saying that what she wants most is already beside her 508 510 559.

Xianxian — Sylveon

Xianxian’s level and extensive moveset surprise Cheng Tian, whose system reveals that she is stronger than most newly obtained Pokémon in their cohort 25.

Mesprit explains that Mew created humans and passed Aura to them. It describes Su Han’s current Aura as weak but tells her that sufficiently flexible use of the power could eventually make her strength comparable to its own; this is an assessment of potential rather than a demonstrated level of power 590.

Mega Evolution

With Cheng Tian helping her maintain a calm state of mind, Su Han activates her wrist-mounted Key Stone and aligns her Aura with Gardevoir’s. She successfully performs Mega Evolution and confidently compares her talent for it to Cheng Tian’s 550.

Ancient Texts and Aura Sealing Technique

In the Pokémon League Library’s forbidden underground book room, Su Han notices that ancient books remain spotless despite their dusty surroundings and recognizes that multiple volumes share the same handwriting. Applying Aura reveals blue runes that gather into an image of a tiny, long-tailed creature, but the effort initially overwhelms her 634.

A later rune-formed image of Mew demonstrates sealing Spiritomb and transmits the Aura Sealing Technique directly into her mind. The technique allows an Aura wielder to inscribe a seal onto an object, creating a Sealing Object, and then activate that object with Aura to imprison a Pokémon 645.

Final Confrontation

After Noivern and Togekiss lower Cheng Tian’s body, Su Han asks Noivern to take him to Greninja and turns toward Giratina. Riding Togekiss, she aims for the Griseous Orb above Giratina’s head while Noivern and Lugia provide distractions 690.

Contact with the orb shows her Huo Qian sacrificing her Aura and life force to bind Giratina. Su Han then commits herself to the same struggle, pouring her power into the orb’s Imprison and demanding repayment for its blood debt. As she expends her remaining life force, her body begins glowing and turning insubstantial; before disappearing, her thoughts return to Cheng Tian 690 691.

The later extra titled A Future Like This, for Example depicts her leaning into Cheng Tian’s arms and promising to stay with him forever. That future framing is distinct from the immediate events of the final battle 735.
