After celebrating for most of the night, Yong and his partners went to bed very late. Fortunately, they had nothing important to do the next day, so none of them needed to get up early.
Near noon, they woke up one after another.
Yong took out a new Luxury Ball and placed it in front of Larvesta, smiling as he said,
"Larvesta! Would you like to become my partner?"
"Larvaa~~!"
Larvesta happily narrowed its eyes and nuzzled Yong's hand, then tapped the Pokémon Ball's button with its head. Red light enveloped its tiny body and drew it into the Poké Ball.
Without even a pause, the indicator turned white.
"Great!"
Yong picked up the Pokémon Ball and smiled in satisfaction.
"Here's to our adventures together, Larvesta!"
The Luxury Ball rocked gently, seemingly answering him.
Around him, Marshtomp and the others watched happily too.
He had worried that catching Larvesta in a Pokémon Ball right after it hatched might affect its growth. Now, however, its newborn stage had passed, and it had a solid foundation.
Leaving it out like this was ultimately unsafe, so it was time to officially catch it!
After returning everyone to their Pokémon Balls, Yong packed his backpack and left the Pokémon Center. He was heading to the Pokémon shop to buy a few TMs for Marshtomp and Trapinch!
Becoming the champion had earned him not only an invitation to the Elite Tournament, but also first-place prize money far beyond what the other contestants received!
Although it was a small tournament, it was still officially organized by the Pokémon League, so they had been generous with the rewards-a full two million!
He didn't need protective moves or weather moves, nor did he need to buy any status moves!
What Marshtomp and Trapinch lacked was a well-rounded range
