Did that count as a one-hit knockout?
Whatever!
"Ding! Trapinch won an official battle! Earned 120 Training Points! Gained a large amount of experience!" "Ding! Sand Tomb, Bulldoze, Earth Power, and Dragon Claw proficiency increased!" "Ding! Trapinch leveled up to Lv33!"
Today had been great. Everyone had leveled up!
Yong felt deeply pleased. His partners hadn't eased up on themselves while they were at home.
Across from him, a hint of surprise appeared in Naoki's eyes.
"It mastered Dragon-type power at its first evolutionary stage? Impressive!"
Yong let out a breath, then smiled and shook his head.
"It was all Trapinch's own hard work. We got lucky!"
Indeed, even Yong didn't understand why Trapinch had awakened its Dragon-type bloodline early. But what did that matter? The stronger his Pokémon were, the better!
There probably wasn't any trace of Trapinch using Dragon-type moves in Ditto's memories!
Naoki smiled, clapped his hands, and recalled Ditto.
"A splendid one-hit knockout! You've grasped the essence of it, Yong!"
"Thank you for your guidance, Mr. Naoki!"
"Come on! Head into the final room!"
Naoki stepped aside from the doorway behind him and gestured with a smile.
Yong nodded, pushed the door open, and walked inside.
Up on a roof beam, the other Trapinch, excited by what it had watched, was entertaining itself.
With purple energy in its left hand and pink energy in its right, it kept swinging at the air.
Suddenly noticing Yong's back disappear through the doorway, it hurriedly returned to its own form, then vanished on the spot!
This room was much smaller, though its lighting was just as dim.
Yong retrieved the fully healed Marshtomp and Aron from the healing machine, but didn't put Trapinch's Pokémon Ball in. He would leave the coming battle to his other partners!
