As Yong walked through the forest, he had yet to see any Pokémon, but their playful cries drifting over now and then still put him in a wonderful mood.
The trees were not tall, and gentle sunlight filtered through their branches onto the ground, making it feel warm without being oppressive.
After he had walked a little farther, Pokémon soon began darting through the woods. Some paused curiously to size him up, while others hid warily behind trees or among the branches, watching him in secret.
Yong did not mind. Instead, he smiled and greeted them, casually tossing out a candy and watching the little Pokémon happily accept it.
He was not trying to catch them. He simply enjoyed getting along with Pokémon like this. Without realizing it, he let go of his worries and stress, and his whole body felt much more relaxed.
Most of the Pokémon that appeared were Grass-type, Normal-type, or Bug-type, with a few Flying-type Pokémon swooping overhead.
They were mostly Pokémon commonly seen outside as well, such as Oddish, Bellsprout, Budew, Wurmple, Weedle, Zigzagoon, Seedot, and Shroomish.
The only slightly rarer ones he saw were an Exeggcute and a Scyther!
Yong rather liked cool Bug-type Pokémon like Scyther, but the moment he saw that fleeting figure, he gave up any thought of catching the Pokémon.
Too fast. There was no time at all...
As he ventured deeper into the forest, the variety of Pokémon grew richer. Quite a few Pokémon from other regions even appeared, gradually drawing Yong's attention.
An Eevee!
Eevee!
Looking at the little Pokémon hiding beneath a tree, with fluffy brown fur and big eyes gazing curiously at him, Yong put on what he thought was his gentlest smile and said softly,
"Hello there, little one! I've got some delicious food here~
