"This Pokémon is..."
The announcer's hesitant voice rang out.
"Please bear with us. Kofu is from the Western Continent, so forgive my lack of expertise. I'll look up this Pokémon's information right away..."
Kofu understood perfectly well that, with so little contact between the Eastern and Western Hemispheres, unfamiliarity with each other's Pokémon was inevitable. He volunteered an explanation.
"This is Pyroar, from the Kalos Region in the Western Hemisphere! It's a Normal- and Fire-type Pokémon!"
"I see! It's Pyroar, from the distant Kalos Region! The evolved form of Litleo! Apparently, its mane can reach temperatures of 2,000 degrees during battle, and its breath reaches 6,000 degrees! It certainly looks powerful!"
The announcer had found Pyroar's information as well and began sharing it with the audience.
Yong knew about Pyroar. In the anime from his previous life, one had even stopped Steven's Metagross and Alain's Mega Charizard X from attacking each other!
Of course, that didn't prove how powerful Pyroar actually was. Anyone familiar with it knew just how awkward its stats, typing, and Abilities were when put together...
As a Normal- and Fire-type Pokémon, being saddled with the Normal typing effectively left it with only Fire-type offensive coverage. Its two highest stats, Special Attack and Speed, were only just above 100, making it difficult to deliver any real burst of power!
That left it in an awkward middle ground, supposedly fast and hard-hitting...
Of course, its Abilities also bore a fair share of the blame for how difficult Pyroar was to use in battle.
Unnerve and Rivalry were bad enough, but Moxie... for a Pyroar with only 68 Attack, that really hurt!
That might have been why Kofu had hesitated!
