"Larvitar is unable to battle! Gyarados wins!"

As the referee announced the result, Yong recalled the little Pokémon, feeling fairly pleased despite the loss.

"Ding! Larvitar lost an official battle! Earned 50 Training Points! Gained a large amount of experience!" "Ding! Rock Slide, Dragon Dance, and Dragon Claw proficiency increased!"

Across from him, Crasher Wake smiled.

"Excellent determination! But you still need to work harder! Come on, kid! Send out a stronger Pokémon!"

Scratching his head, Yong hesitated for a moment. Sending out Larvesta did not seem appropriate.

It was not that he feared losing. Defeat was inevitable, but getting crushed without gaining anything would be pointless.

Whether in level, size, development, or battle experience, Gyarados was far beyond anything Larvesta could handle. Sending it out would only deal a blow to its confidence.

After all, Larvesta and Larvitar had completely different species characteristics.

Having made his decision, Yong took out a Pokémon Ball and threw it. Amid the brilliant white light, Bastiodon appeared!

Crasher Wake's eyes lit up, and he smiled.

"An opponent worth fighting!"

Seeing this, the referee called out loudly.

"Gyarados versus Bastiodon! Begin!"

With a sweep of his hand, Crasher Wake smiled.

"Gyarados! Use Hydro Pump!"

"Roar!"

With an angry roar, Water-type energy surged inside Gyarados's mouth! It gathered its power and blasted a thick, highly compressed, rapidly spinning torrent toward its opponent!

Yong refused to back down.

"Bastiodon! Flamethrower!"

"Bast!"

Its four protruding bony growths opened and closed as Bastiodon raised its head, crimson fire flashing once more!

Its scorching breath formed a raging pillar of flame that met the incoming Hydro Pump!

"Hiss!!!"

"Boom!"

Steam burst outward, followed by a deafening explosion!

The tremendous impact sent the surrounding pool water surging and rocking, making the floating platform beneath them sway as well.
