Yong and his two companions traveled on foot along Route 212, enjoying the pleasures of their journey.
Of course, Aerodactyl couldn't carry all three of them anyway...
Broadleaf forests lined both sides of the road. With the frequent rainfall, water pooled in the uneven forest floor, gradually turning it into marshland over time.
Many areas were practically inaccessible to humans, with bridges and mountain cable cars connecting one area to another.
This was only a small part of the Sinnoh Region's complex terrain.
Fortunately, compared with the harsher conditions in the north, the southeastern area where Yong and his companions were traveling was relatively flat. Though it rained often, snow was rare, and there was no thick fog.
After crossing another wooden bridge, Yong looked back at the disconnected yet crisscrossing rivers and ponds and remarked in amazement,
"No wonder you wouldn't agree to rent bicycles. I had no idea the roads in the Sinnoh Region were this complicated!"
Reggie, who was leading the way, laughed at his words.
"Of course! Hoenn is only a peninsula, while the Sinnoh Region is an entire island! It has its own distinct environment, too. Besides, Mt. Coronet practically cuts off the east from the west, putting all sorts of limits on Sinnoh's development! And the farther north you go, the harder the journey gets!"
Akemi added,
"Fortunately, although Mt. Coronet causes people a lot of trouble, it also brings plenty of benefits. The Sinnoh Region is rich in natural resources and ancient sites. And thanks to Mt. Coronet's influence, the entire western part of the region can generate electricity from wind power. That's why cable cars have become the main form of transportation."
Yong looked up at Mt. Coronet, hidden among the clouds and mist, lost in thought.
The three continued onward, crossing
