Following the riverbank, Yong finally reached a waterfall.
The waterfall was small, and a cave lay above it!
This was one of the stairways leading to the second level of Victory Road.
There were many more stairways like this, scattered throughout the caves! They might be waterfalls, mine tunnels, or even paths above the rocks.
In short, as long as trainers kept moving forward without turning back, the various passages and paths would eventually lead them to different stairways.
Yong sent out Metagross, held on to one of its legs, and slowly floated up.
The caves on the second level were much more spacious, but most of the powerful, high-level wild Pokémon lived here.
Recalling Metagross, Yong continued onward.
Sure enough, the Pokémon on this level were more aggressive, too!
He had only taken a few steps when several rocks suddenly hurtled at him from the side, forcing him to stop again and dodge.
Clang!
Heavy footsteps rang out, and a Pokémon emerged menacingly in the dim light ahead!
It had a round, rocky body, a head set right in its center, grayish-brown arms braced at its sides, and thick legs that stomped heavily on the ground!
"A Golem, huh..."
The boy shrugged helplessly, and Larvesta hopped down to the ground.
Pokémon: Golem, Lv. 48... Ability: rock head... Moves...
It was stronger than the Pokémon on the lower level, but not by much.
Yong looked at his opponent and said softly,
"You started this... Larvesta! String Shot!"
"Larrr!"
"Golem!!"
Golem tucked in its limbs and roared as it rolled toward them, kicking up a trail of dust!
The same old trick: Rollout.
Larvesta remained calm, watching its opponent approach before puffing up its body. Then white silk shot toward Golem, spreading out like an enormous net!
Snap!
