Ch. 685The ocean! (Part one) Steven's Mega Evolution!

Steven used Mega Evolution to strengthen Metagross against Kyogre as the awakened Pokémon unleashed catastrophic storms across Hoenn. At Mt. Chimney, Yong destroyed Team Magma’s machine, but the volcano erupted as something else awakened.

  • Kyogre’s arrival brought torrential rain, destructive tides, and fierce winds across Hoenn’s eastern continent.
  • Yong and Mew protected Aerodactyl as it destroyed Team Magma’s machine on Mt. Chimney, despite Tabitha’s attempt to stop them.

  • Steven and Glacia combined their Pokémon’s attacks to counter Kyogre’s assault in the eastern sea.
  • Steven used his keystone and Metagross’s stone to Mega Evolve Metagross before Kyogre.

Ch. 686The ocean! (Part two) A true god!

Steven and Glacia tried to slow Kyogre, but its natural-energy attack overwhelmed their Pokémon and it continued toward the Eastern Continent. Drake and Sidney prepared a trap at Mt. Pyre, warning their forces that they faced a true god.

  • Steven Mega Evolved Metagross and challenged Kyogre, which answered by unleashing a massive storm and six Origin Pulse beams.
  • Steven and Glacia combined Mega Metagross's Supermetal Phantom with their Pokémon's Sheer Cold, but Kyogre's attack broke through and forced Glacia to retreat with her Pokémon.
  • Steven and Glacia followed Kyogre toward Mt. Pyre to join Drake and the others, hoping their combined strength could drive it back.
  • Drake and Sidney positioned their Pokémon around a Y-shaped harbor at Mt. Pyre and readied them as Kyogre's extreme weather approached.

Ch. 687The Ocean! (Part Three) Bringing Everyone's Strength Together!

Steven, Glacia, Drake, Sidney, and the gathered Trainers combined their Pokémon’s powers to hold back Kyogre’s tsunami and trap it in whirlpools. Their defenses seemed to calm the ocean, but Kyogre remained unresponsive, leaving them unsure whether they had succeeded.

  • Steven and Glacia arrived to help Drake and the others face Kyogre, while Drake ordered everyone to wait for instructions.
  • Steven and Drake had their Pokémon use Sunny Day to clear the dark clouds, but Kyogre’s storm quickly swallowed the sunlight again.
  • As Kyogre’s towering tsunami approached, Steven, Glacia, Drake, Sidney, and the gathered Trainers launched psychic, ice, and whirlpool attacks.
  • The combined attacks formed a Confusion barrier and an enormous wall of ice that held back the tsunami while Sidney’s Pokémon trapped Kyogre in whirlpools.
  • The ocean appeared to calm, but Kyogre showed no response as the attacks continued.

Ch. 688The Ocean! (Part Four): Defeat!

Steven and the other Trainers fought Kyogre with a coordinated assault, briefly driving it beneath the sea before it unleashed its full power. Kyogre overwhelmed their defenses and made landfall at Mt. Pyre’s harbor.

  • Steven had Metagross transport the defending Pokémon as Sidney, Drake, and Glacia coordinated attacks against Kyogre.
  • Steven and Mega Metagross unleashed Super Metal Phantom, blasting open the sea and making Kyogre disappear from view.
  • Steven warned that the respite was temporary and called for the Red Orb and Brilliant Blue Orb to be recovered so Groudon and Kyogre could be put back to sleep.
  • Kyogre retaliated with Origin Pulse, knocking Mega Metagross back and forcing Steven, Glacia, and Drake to evacuate the Pokémon.
  • Kyogre broke through the frozen sea and fired a Hyper Beam at Mt. Pyre’s harbor, overpowering the defenders’ combined attack and making landfall.

Ch. 689The ocean! (Part five) Great Drought!

Kyogre flooded Mt. Pyre, then left for the east after sensing an eruption at Mt. Chimney. Yong and the others escaped as Mt. Chimney erupted, and the sun’s blazing heat brought on Great Drought weather.

  • Kyogre submerged most of Mt. Pyre, and Steven and Drake helped rescue people while the League and their Pokémon held the mountain summit.
  • An earthquake shook Mt. Pyre, and Kyogre spotted a dust cloud and unnatural red-gold light near Mt. Chimney before diving eastward.
  • Steven left Glacia and Sidney to evacuate Mt. Pyre’s survivors and flew with Drake toward Mt. Chimney.
  • Mt. Chimney erupted, forcing Roxanne, Tabitha, Yong, and their groups to flee as lava and volcanic ash filled the sky.
  • Yong saw magma moving through a fissure as the sun intensified, and Great Drought weather arrived.

Ch. 690The ocean! (VI) Land and sea!

  • Roxanne and Flannery told Yong that Kyogre had breached Mt. Pyre and was heading toward the Western Continent after Steven and the League failed to stop it.
  • Yong urged Roxanne and Flannery to avoid confronting Groudon directly, then flew south to intercept the suspicious figure as Kyogre’s storm and Groudon’s heat ravaged Hoenn.

Ch. 691The ocean! (Part seven) Reinforcements!
