Time flew, and several years passed in the blink of an eye.
Zhu Zhuqing had lived in Nuoding City for three years. With less than five months remaining until her eleventh birthday, her soul power had reached the bottleneck at rank thirty. Once she obtained her third Soul Ring, she could advance from Soul Grandmaster to Soul Elder.
In fact, she could have broken through to rank thirty long ago, but she had deliberately been condensing her soul power. Condensed soul power was more substantial, giving her greater reserves than other Soul Masters of the same rank.
She had held the title of the Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy's greatest beauty for a full three years. Ever since her body had begun to develop, that title had followed her everywhere.
This year, Tang San was eleven, and his soul power level was twenty-seven. Xiao Wu was also eleven, and, remarkably, her soul power had reached rank twenty-seven as well. It was as though the two had planned it together.
After the brother and sister moved off campus, Xiao Wu and Tang San grew even closer. Xiao Wu often found all sorts of excuses to go play in Tang San's room, only returning to her own room when it was time to sleep.
At the entrance to the Nuoding Soul Master Academy, classes had just let out.
Two pretty girls walked behind an ordinary-looking boy who led the way. The boy frowned, constantly glancing toward both sides of the road.
The two girls chatted and giggled behind him. They seemed to have just touched on something amusing, laughing so hard their bodies shook and drawing quite a few gazes.
The girl on the left was tall and slender, standing around one hundred seventy centimeters. Her long braid hung past her calves, and she wore a pink short-skirt ensemble that showed off her figure beautifully.
But the girl on the right drew the most attention. She was simply too beautiful, with her half-up hairstyle, delicate oval face, and long legs. Her smooth, lotus-root-like arms looked especially striking in the sunlight.
Above all, her long black dress displayed her perfect figure to the fullest. It was enough to kill a man.
"Wow, it's Zhu Zhuqing! She's coming out-" someone exclaimed outside the school gates. They had come from other schools to see the beauty.
"Mm, her figure and looks are both top-notch. Especially when she smiles-she's far prettier than those models at the couples' hotels," a sleazy-looking middle-aged man remarked.
Someone pointed at Xiao Wu. "Shh-look at the girl beside Zhu Zhuqing. She's not bad either, just a little flat as an airstrip."
That remark about Xiao Wu seemed to draw Tang San's attention. He glared viciously at the man, two Soul Rings already revolving around his body, then broke into a sprint.
Seeing Tang San charge out with that fierce expression, the men gathered outside scattered in panic. One shouted as he fled, "Run! That errand boy's coming again!"
By then, Tang San had caught up with the boy bringing up the rear. The boy was utterly terrified. He had heard that someone who had mouthed off last time had been beaten so badly he spent several days in bed.
"Big brother, let's talk this out! I'm here to pick up my little sister!" the boy hurriedly pleaded.
Tang San gave him a vicious glare, then left. The boy had not been lying: a girl had indeed rushed out through the school gates, clearly heading in his direction.
On the way home, Zhu Zhuqing covered her mouth and laughed. "Tang San, don't do that next time. You nearly scared that boy into a heart attack."
Tang San dared not engage with this enchantress, Zhu Zhuqing, nor did he dare look at her for too long. He merely gave a noncommittal reply.
There was one thing he could not understand. In all these three years, this enchantress still had not obtained a Soul Ring, and her soul power remained a mystery. Yet her figure had developed dramatically, and every time he looked a little too long, he could barely stand it.
Xiao Wu clutched her stomach and laughed, completely unaware that Tang San had gotten angry for her sake.
"Hahaha! It's all because your figure is too good, Sister Zhu Zhuqing. Your title as the Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy's greatest beauty has spread so far! How many love letters have you received at school already? That Wang Sheng alone has sent more than a dozen!"
Xiao Wu gave an exaggerated imitation of Wang Sheng writing a love letter.
"Speaking of which, Sister Zhu Zhuqing, have you picked someone to be your boyfriend?" Xiao Wu asked nosily.
Tang San's ears perked up as well. He wanted to know what sort of boy this enchantress, Zhu Zhuqing, liked. He was rather curious, after all.
At Xiao Wu's question, Zhu Zhuqing immediately fell silent. Her expression gradually turned icy.
She thought of that scumbag Dai Mubai, and also of the little boy named Zhu Yushu in the Hell Spirit Cat clan.
A moment later, a smile suddenly appeared on Zhu Zhuqing's face. "No. If there were someone, it would probably be me."
"Sister Zhu Zhuqing, aren't you a little too full of yourself? Hahaha!" Xiao Wu doubled over laughing. She had thought Zhu Zhuqing was thinking about some boy.
Tang San, however, remained silent. He had just felt waves of cold emanating from Zhu Zhuqing. This woman was no ordinary person. There was definitely a story behind her.
Zhu Zhuqing quietly leaned close to Xiao Wu's ear and whispered, "Xiao Wu, what about you? Do you like your Third Brother?"
Boom-
A thunderclap rang through both Tang San's and Xiao Wu's minds, and they froze on the spot.
Tang San's thoughts churned wildly. Do I really like my little sister, Xiao Wu?
Xiao Wu gave Tang San a shy glance, then went to tickle Zhu Zhuqing. "You're the one who likes that block of wood! Don't run-"
There was no way Zhu Zhuqing would let Xiao Wu tickle her. Using Spirit Cat Footwork, she darted forward, with Xiao Wu chasing close behind.
Only after the two girls disappeared around the street corner did Tang San come to his senses. He hurried anxiously after them. Both girls were important to him, after all; he could not let anything happen to them.
That evening, in the three-bedroom apartment with two living rooms, Zhu Zhuqing discussed matters with her third sister, Zhu Zhulin.
Zhu Zhuqing held a map. She spread it across the table, then used a pencil to trace a route-the shortest route from Nuoding City to the nearby Soul Hunting Forest.
"Third Sister, I'm planning to leave for the Soul Hunting Forest tomorrow. I've asked for two days off, so with Saturday and Sunday, I'll have four days altogether," Zhu Zhuqing said, pointing at the area marked as the Soul Hunting Forest.
Zhu Zhulin studied the route and saw that it headed northeast the entire way. This small road skirted several other towns and villages completely.
The Soul Hunting Forest was roughly four hundred li from Nuoding City. It was neither particularly far nor particularly close-two hundred kilometers when converted.
Normally, traveling on foot at full speed would take two days, while a carriage would still take more than a day. But that route passed through too many towns and villages, and problems might arise along the way.
Following the route her little sister had drawn, however, would save them about a day. Although the road would be difficult for a carriage, their physiques as Agility Attack Soul Masters meant it would pose little trouble for the two of them.
"Are you sure the two of us can obtain the third Soul Ring you need? Shouldn't we invite a few teachers to help?" Zhu Zhulin asked worriedly.
She had her reservations. Over the past three years, she had advanced only three ranks, barely reaching rank thirty-four. She feared she would be unable to protect her little sister properly.
