One eerie incantation after another spilled from Kenjaku's mouth. These were chants she had specially modified for this ritual, her greatest expression of sincerity.
The immense cursed energy swirling above the entire country did not rush toward Kenjaku's location like a Spirit Bomb.
Instead, fine cracks appeared across the surface of her body. Her cursed energy, mingled with her soul, leaked out through those cracks bit by bit, drifting toward the eerie sky overhead.
Time ticked away, second by second.
Without her cursed tool glasses, Maki Zenin could not see the bizarre spectacle, but she could still feel its sinister, uncanny presence, and it unsettled her.
"Hey, what the hell is happening?!"
Unable to hold back, Maki Zenin quickly turned and shouted the question at Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo. But how could either of them answer her?
It was eerie. Far too eerie.
Beads of sweat trickled down Aoi Todo's cheeks. The ordinary human side of him warned him to run, while the jujutsu sorcerer side told him to stop Kenjaku immediately, or something would go terribly wrong.
Settling on a compromise, Aoi Todo decided to have Yuji Itadori and Maki Zenin leave first to report the situation while he stayed behind to figure out how to stop Kenjaku.
"Bro..."
Aoi Todo had barely gotten the first syllable out when he realized that Yuji Itadori, standing beside him, was already gritting his teeth and stepping toward Kenjaku against the crushing gravity.
One step, two steps, three steps.
Even for a superhuman high schooler like Yuji Itadori, Kenjaku's gravitational pressure inflicted tremendous agony. Bones cracked throughout his body, and blood even seeped through his skin, but he did not stop moving forward.
Kenjaku stood still.
Itadori pressed on.
After more than ten seconds, Yuji Itadori came within less than an
