From Satoru Gojo's angle, he could see her eyes obediently closed beneath her sunglasses, her fine, slightly curled lashes trembling faintly. She probably wasn't sleeping soundly on the plane, either.

As if possessed, he shifted a little lower to make it more comfortable for Miwa Chisei to lean against him, only to hear Suguru Geto snicker beside him.

"Geto, what are you laughing at?"

He deliberately lowered his voice, seemingly afraid of disturbing her sleep.

"I just think the way you and Miwa get along is interesting."

Suguru Geto's voice was quiet too, but he sounded quite serious.

Sure enough, Satoru Gojo immediately looked as though he'd heard something revolting. He glared irritably at the sleeping Miwa Chisei, then leaned toward Suguru Geto's ear and started grumbling.

"If I hadn't met her once when we were kids, and Uncle Tatsuki hadn't passed away, I'd have beaten her to death ages ago."

"Oh, I see. Overflowing with sympathy, huh, Satoru?"

"What's with that disgusting look? Want to fight when we get off the plane?"

Satoru Gojo moved as he spoke, and the half-asleep Miwa Chisei instinctively punched her disobedient "cushion."

"Fuck..."

Having relaxed and switched off Limitless, Satoru Gojo clutched his stomach in pain. That punch had really landed.

Suguru Geto thought he'd develop crow's feet if he kept laughing like this.

Satoru Gojo rolled his eyes, closed them, and started playing dead too.

The girl weighed very little. With the two of them so close, Satoru Gojo could smell the mingled floral fragrance and natural scent coming from her.

It was familiar. He'd smelled it last time, too.

How could this obnoxious, flat-chested little runt smell so nice? She must have been secretly copying grown women and wearing perfume instead of behaving herself.

She really needed a beating.

Miwa Chisei woke at the slight jolt as the plane touched down on the runway.

For some reason, she'd slept very comfortably, but she could feel someone's resentment beside her.

"What's wrong?"

She'd fallen asleep as soon as she boarded because she didn't want to listen to those two go on and on. Surely she couldn't have offended him?

Satoru Gojo gave a soft, rather petulant huff.

"Nothing."

Miwa Chisei thought this guy had a serious case of teenage moodiness.

Once they returned to Jujutsu High, the first-years' mission was officially over. Having stayed up all night, the five said their goodbyes, intending to catch up on sleep.

Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, and their mission target seemed to have something else to do, all very secretive.

Back in her dorm room, Miwa Chisei changed into her comfortable bear pajamas and spread her arms to embrace her lovely bedding.

She plugged her phone into its charger, but as she was about to set it on the bedside table, her hand suddenly slipped, sending the phone tumbling to the floor.

A small piece of one corner of the flip phone Satoru Gojo had given her was now damaged. It felt terribly ominous.

Her chest suddenly tightened, and her heart began racing.

No way... this was Jujutsu High.

But even Jujutsu High had gaps in its defenses, didn't it?

Without even changing out of her pajamas, she ran outside in her cute cartoon slippers, her loose silver hair tracing a beautiful arc through the air.

Satoru Gojo! You'd better be all right!

Miwa Chisei used Jujutsu: Judgment to accelerate, rushing to the steps where everyone had just parted.

The sight of those two figures seared Miwa Chisei's eyes.

Holding an unidentified cursed tool, Toji Fushiguro pierced Satoru Gojo's neck. Blood sprayed into the air, and Miwa Chisei could almost smell its rusty tang.

Satoru Gojo, the one who possessed the absolute defense of Limitless, had actually been stabbed through the neck.

Miwa Chisei's voice began to tremble. She charged forward almost without thinking.

"Satoru Gojo!"

At the sound of her voice, a strange smile curled Toji Fushiguro's lips. With his other hand, he drew a small dagger and thrust it above Satoru Gojo's brow, driving it into his skull.

This had to be a joke. It had to be. An attack like that would kill Satoru Gojo!

Toji Fushiguro pulled out both weapons, and Miwa Chisei watched Satoru Gojo crumple to the ground like an eagle with broken wings.

Dark red blood spread beneath him, stinging Miwa Chisei's crimson eyes.

"I have little Miwa to thank for helping me find the Special Grade Cursed Tool, the Inverted Spear of Heaven."

"Next up is the Star Plasma Vessel."

Miwa Chisei could only watch as the man vanished before her eyes. He had no intention of wasting time on her.

"Satoru Gojo, hang on! I'll go get Ieiri right now!"

Miwa Chisei rushed to the boy's side in a panic. She had never imagined that one day she would see Satoru Gojo like this.

The boy who had seemed so invincible now lay in a pool of blood, his eyes gradually losing focus. Miwa Chisei felt her entire body grow cold.

She couldn't help touching Satoru Gojo's cheek, meeting his gaze.

With his neck pierced through and his vocal cords destroyed, Satoru Gojo couldn't make a sound, but Miwa Chisei could read what he meant in his eyes.

He wanted her to leave him alone, to find Suguru Geto, to find Toji Fushiguro.

"No! I'm going to get Ieiri!"

It was the first time Miwa Chisei had been so overcome with emotion, the first time her voice had sounded so grief-stricken.

But Satoru Gojo's clear, azure eyes now reflected that bloody scene as he stared straight at Miwa Chisei.

Miwa Chisei bit her pink lip with her pearly teeth until it turned white.

She couldn't stop trembling. Fear had even begun to rise in her heart.

A shock second only to learning that her father had died of illness slammed into Miwa Chisei's heart.

"Satoru Gojo, if you dare die..."

"I'll leave bitter melon as an offering for you every year!"

Satoru Gojo's vision gradually lost focus. The last image froze on that scrunched-up little face, on the verge of tears.

He scoffed inwardly, unable to resist one last silent complaint.

Those bear pajamas were hideous.
