Power Progression

  • The school itself has no sorcerer grade. These milestones track the documented growth of its students, staff, and collective capabilities.
Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Grade 1 upperclassmen 29 Eikura Yohei identifies Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto as Grade 1. He considers Shoko Ieiri’s healing ability equivalent to Grade 1 despite its noncombat nature.
Additional Reverse Cursed Technique users 52 Gojo and Miwa Chisei learn Reverse Cursed Technique, joining Ieiri. Gojo can heal himself but cannot output healing energy to others.
Geto confirmed as Special Grade 90 Yuki Tsukumo describes Geto as an already-established Special Grade Sorcerer.
Three Special Grade Sorcerers attached to Tokyo 112 115 158 Gojo and Geto are Special Grade; Yuta Okkotsu receives the same classification immediately upon enrollment. The higher-ups later use this concentration of strength to justify exceptionally difficult assignments.
Expanded training force 151 Following the Jujutsu Empowerment Department’s dissolution, Geto and dozens of former members apply to the school’s extracurricular tutoring class as teachers or students.
Geto gains cursed-spirit restoration 195 Geto learns a form of Reverse Cursed Technique that works only on cursed spirits, giving him a way to replenish his collection beyond absorbing replacements.

Organization and Governance

  • Four-year course: The school combines general studies with cursed energy training and field assignments 23 26 56.
  • Higher-up oversight: Ordinary student enrollment records require approval from the Jujutsu Higher-Ups. Yuta’s admission becomes a dispute over the danger he poses and Gojo’s growing influence 112.
  • Independent recruitment authority: The extracurricular tutoring class can select teachers and students without reporting to the higher-ups, provided applicants have no criminal record 151.
  • Relative autonomy: Gojo’s presence allows Tokyo Jujutsu High to maintain substantial independence despite the higher-ups’ governing authority 150.
  • Educational policy: Yaga defends nurturing promising young people rather than eliminating potential threats such as Yuta and Yuji Itadori 209.

Education and Student Life

Instruction and Assessment

  • Cursed energy precision: An early exercise requires students to divide wood into four equal pieces, then repeatedly split the smaller blocks with increasingly precise energy control 23.
  • Initial grading: Chisei’s assessment separates jujutsu proficiency from hand-to-hand combat. Two examiners submit reports for the higher-ups to evaluate 38.
  • Practical training: Students undertake supervised exorcisms, including clearing a building Chisei intends to use for her Kyoto business branch 114 115.
  • Emotional control: Yuji and Junpei watch films while maintaining a steady cursed energy supply to Yaga’s cursed corpses. A lapse causes the training doll to strike them 189.
  • Peer instruction: Yuta spars with Megumi, while Maki helps Nobara use her hammer cursed tool more effectively 178.
  • Continued education: Geto’s extracurricular class extends training beyond the ordinary student course and attracts increasing numbers of independent sorcerers 151 209.

Benefits and Workload

  • No tuition or dormitory fees: Chisei receives free accommodation, bedding, and student supplies upon enrollment 22.
  • Financial support: Students receive stipends, while missions provide additional bonuses 56 166.
  • Mission eligibility: After the first-years’ work at Naha Airport, Jujutsu Society authorizes the class to accept official assignments alongside its studies 56.
  • Flexible attendance: Students frequently miss lessons, arrive late, or leave early because of missions—or personal preference 26.
  • Vacation is not a break from missions: Classes stop during summer vacation, but assignments continue 62.
  • School trips: Trips remain within Japan and last three to five days because of mission obligations. The first- and second-years travel together to Wakkanai to reduce expenses 62 63.

Uniforms and Discipline

  • Custom uniforms: Students receive individually made uniforms; unusual colors can indicate special attention from the authorities. Chisei’s blue-gray belt and Yuta’s white uniform mark them out 37 115.
  • Seasonal clothing: Summer uniforms are used, though Chisei later criticizes Tokyo’s delayed provision compared with Kyoto 56 190.
  • Self-reflection essays: Yaga orders Gojo, Geto, and Chisei to write apologies after damaging the entrance. Chisei recommends the same punishment when her children damage school buildings years later 36 224.

Campus and Facilities

  • Setting: Tokyo’s campus lies among wooded greenery, with small bridges, flowing streams, stone paths, and an old-fashioned entrance plaza 18 22 36 109.
  • Dormitory: Initially, one building houses boys and girls on separate floors. Gojo’s room is on the third floor and Chisei’s on the fourth 22.
  • Athletic and training field: Used for cursed energy exercises, sparring, and voluntary practice during school breaks 23 163 178.
  • Medical Building: Provides treatment and examinations; also houses Ieiri’s office and her later training devices 198 225.
  • Cafeteria and shop: The cafeteria serves as a gathering place for teachers and students; the school shop sells breakfast and drinks 109 114 178.
  • Underground apartments: Used to accommodate Yuji and Junpei during Gojo’s private training program 189.
  • Protective barriers: The grounds are covered by barriers intended to prevent curse users from entering. Toji Fushiguro’s complete lack of cursed energy exposes a weakness in that protection 33.

Equipment and Resources

Cursed Tool Sponsorship

  • Donation arrangement: Chisei and Mei Mei offer a selection of cursed tools sourced from the Zenin Clan to support their long-term cooperation with the school 158.
  • Selection limits: Toji’s personal Inverted Spear of Heaven and Playful Cloud are explicitly excluded, despite Gojo and Geto’s attempts to obtain them 158.
Cursed tool Grade Intended recipient Function
Dragon Spirit Blade Special Grade Yuta Okkotsu Withstands enormous cursed energy output, addressing Yuta’s tendency to break weapons 159.
Heavy-Load Gauntlets Grade 1 Panda Extremely hard gauntlets suited to his fist-based combat 159.
Silver Snake Grade 1 Maki Zenin Flexible, extendable whip with a maximum length of five meters 159.
Ring of Spring Grade 1 Toge Inumaki Stores cursed techniques; Ieiri inscribes healing jujutsu to gradually repair his vocal cords 159.

Other Resources

  • Sukuna’s fingers: Geto states that Jujutsu High holds approximately six when Yuji is brought to Tokyo 171.
  • Training cursed corpses: Yaga supplies the dolls used in Yuji and Junpei’s cursed energy exercises 189.
  • Reverse Cursed Technique devices: Ieiri develops equipment that Miwa Yo and Gojo Xi use to practice continuously feeding cursed energy into a device 225.

History

Chisei’s Recruitment and Enrollment

The higher-ups assign Gojo to bring Miwa Chisei into Jujutsu High, despite her refusal to return to Jujutsu Society. Geto joins the effort, while Yaga urges them to arrange her enrollment after classes have already begun 2 3.

After Gojo rescues Chisei from Toji, she is brought to the school for Ieiri’s treatment. She subsequently enrolls almost a month late. Yaga privately knows that her admission divided the higher-ups evenly, unlike Riona’s uncontested enrollment 16 17 22 23.

Graduate-Led Reform

After graduation, Gojo returns as a teacher while Geto establishes the Jujutsu Empowerment Department under the higher-ups. Its training grounds remain at Jujutsu High, and its follow-up instruction improves graduates’ survival rate 105 109 113.

Gojo and Geto later arrange the department’s dissolution rather than seek a direct transfer the higher-ups would reject. A staged fight conceals their cooperation; Geto and former department members then apply to the school’s extracurricular class 150 151.

Chisei agrees to cooperate once Geto breaks away from the higher-ups. Her intelligence network supplies an alternative source of missions and rewards, reducing dependence on assignments controlled by hostile officials. The partnership is operating successfully by Megumi’s enrollment 150 151 166.

Shibuya and Institutional Backing

Jujutsu High participates in planning the response to the Shibuya Station hostage crisis. After the incident, an autopsy of Kamo Tetsuya’s body becomes so destructive that half the school’s Medical Building collapses 204 207.

The school subsequently calls a meeting to reveal Kenjaku’s identity. Gojo announces institutional support for Chisei and warns against further attacks on the Miwa family, while Yaga urges the higher-ups to recognize the younger generation’s achievements and the declining sorcerer death rate 209.

Later Generation

By the time Miwa Yo and Gojo Xi enroll, Geto is principal and Yuta is an acclaimed teacher. Annual intake exceeds a dozen students, sorcerer survival has improved, and Jujutsu Society has become more open and innovative 223.

The siblings nevertheless continue the school’s tradition of exceptional students causing expensive damage. After their first combat test damages buildings, Geto asks Gojo to fund repairs for the next four years 224.

Feature Tokyo Kyoto
Principal during the main story Masamichi Yaga 158 Yoshinobu Gakuganji 164
Relationship with the higher-ups Increasingly independent; receives punitive, difficult assignments after Geto’s breakaway 150 158 Favored in supplies and mission allocation because Gakuganji leads the conservative faction 164

Documented teacher Gojo teaches first-years; Geto supplies supplementary training 166 175 Utahime Iori 164

Sister-School Goodwill Event

  • Purpose: Tests students’ exorcism ability and combat strength through interschool competition 190.
  • Usual participants: Second- and third-years. Tokyo uses first-years when older students are unavailable because of missions or leave 190.
  • Previous result: Tokyo’s four first-years defeat Kyoto’s six students, with Yuta’s Special Grade strength playing a major role 164.
  • Later event: Gojo announces eight Tokyo participants but assigns Yuta as referee rather than competitor to balance the contest 190.
  • Second-day contest: A tampered drawing selects hide-and-seek instead of the principals’ prepared events; cursed energy use remains permitted 197.

Relationships

  • Miwa Chisei — Alumna, sponsor, and outside mission partner. Supports recruitment, intelligence work, and cursed tool donations; Gojo invents an unofficial “honorary graduate” designation for her 150 151 158 188.
  • Jujutsu Higher-Ups — Supervising authority and recurring political opponent. Their control over enrollment and missions clashes with Tokyo’s recruitment and reform efforts 112 150 158 209.
  • Kyoto Jujutsu High — Sister institution, learning-exchange partner, and Goodwill Event rival. Yuta undertakes a week-long exchange there 176 190.
  • Zenin Clan — Source of the cursed tools offered through Chisei’s sponsorship arrangement 158.
