The two were about to head downstairs and leave the teaching building when they spotted two familiar figures in an otherwise empty study room on that floor.
The silver-haired girl wore Jujutsu High's dark blue uniform, with a striking smoky-blue belt around her waist that accentuated its slender curve.
The blond boy beside her looked composed and serious, and the two seemed to be discussing something.
They weren't in their classroom. A boy and a girl meeting alone in a study room during lunch break looked suspicious no matter how you sliced it.
The study room's wooden door had a pane of clear glass so students could check whether anyone was using it.
Suguru Geto glanced inside. Beside him, Satoru Gojo was chattering away happily and clearly hadn't noticed.
Geto had no intention of pointing it out, but just as they were about to walk past, Gojo suddenly stopped.
"I can sense Miwa in there!"
Suguru Geto gave a helpless smile. What are you, a dog?
Then Satoru Gojo took two steps back and tilted his head to peer into the study room.
The two inside had shifted positions. Kento Nanami was sitting in a chair, looking at something, while Miwa Chisei stood beside him and bent slightly to look along with him. They were awfully close.
Suguru Geto vaguely heard the boy beside him spit out a single choice syllable before he yanked the wooden door open with a bang.
The two inside looked up toward them in perfect unison, their expressions equally calm and impassive, with a hint of confusion.
"What are you two doing?!"
Satoru Gojo looked every bit like a disciplinary committee member conducting an inspection.
"Gojo. Geto."
Kento Nanami nodded politely in greeting, his voice perfectly calm.
"We're analyzing a mission."
Satoru Gojo gave a
