Leaving the Ogres' homeland, Lin Guang and Shion headed toward the Beast Kingdom Eurazania.
Not long after they left, Lin Guang sensed someone following them. He knew who it was, too.
It was Souei, who moved through the shadows.
Lin Guang smiled faintly, unbothered by Souei following them.
Meanwhile, Souei followed behind Lin Guang and Shion, carefully observing Lin Guang's actions.
Lin Guang and Shion made their way through the Great Jura Forest. Lin Guang estimated that at their speed, it would take about two to three days to reach the border of the Beast Kingdom Eurazania.
Along the way, Lin Guang and Shion did their best to avoid other monsters' territories, but they still encountered some monsters.
They easily dealt with those monsters, and before they knew it, night had fallen.
Lin Guang and Shion hunted a Cowdeer, an animal common in the Great Jura Forest, for their dinner.
Over the fire, the Cowdeer turned steadily on a thick wooden spit.
Drops of fragrant fat dripped into the fire, releasing waves of meaty aroma. Lin Guang brushed on his special sauce, then finished with some spices and chili.
The roast smelled even better.
Shion had not been particularly fond of Lin Guang. After all, he had injured her fellow Ogres as soon as he appeared. Although he had done it to hire them, she still felt somewhat wary of him.
But Lin Guang's roasting skills still whetted Shion's appetite and made her feel just a tiny bit more favorably toward him.
"All right, let's eat."
As soon as he finished speaking, Shion tore off a roasted leg and dug in.
As she ate, Shion praised Lin Guang's cooking.
"Mmm! Sho good!"
Lin Guang smiled faintly and started eating too, casting a discreet glance at the woods behind him.
