Background / History

Lin Guang was originally a shut-in on Blue Star who watched anime and played games. After repeatedly staying up late, he died suddenly at home and reincarnated as an abandoned baby in the world of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Sakonji Urokodaki found and adopted him. Recognizing Urokodaki’s Tengu Mask allowed Lin Guang to identify the world he had entered 1.

Raised on Mount Sagiri, Lin Guang became close to Urokodaki’s disciples, including Sabito and Makomo. His warnings failed to prevent their deaths, leaving him frustrated by his inability to change events he already knew about. Once his system awakened, he resolved to enter Final Selection and end the Hand Demon’s killing of Urokodaki’s students 2 6.

During childhood, he accompanied Urokodaki on visits to the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters. After the Butterfly Mansion was established, he regularly visited it and became acquainted with Kanao. His travels with Urokodaki also gave him practical familiarity with towns beyond Mount Sagiri 7 13.

He also visited the Rengoku Family to train with Kyojuro Rengoku. His disappearance from Shinobu’s life lasted three years before their reunion, and their eventual reconciliation involved his promise to avenge Kanae and his explanation that Ice Breathing had been developed to counter Doma 40 46.

After the final battle against Muzan, Lin Guang’s life expanded beyond the Demon Slayer world. In Guilty Crown, he had an identity as the Kuhouin Family’s adopted son and Arisa Shūkyōin’s older brother, attended Tennozu First High School, and joined Funeral Parlor. Although he frequently rejected the use of his former family surname, he continued to draw on the conglomerate’s resources and connections 129 131 133 137 157.

His next world assigned him the identity of a twelve-year-old Konoha orphan whose ordinary shinobi parents had died during the Nine-Tails’ attack. The system tied the unsealing of his abilities to his standing and development, forcing him to advance within the village rather than immediately use his full accumulated power. He became Hiruzen Sarutobi’s disciple, entered ANBU, and later infiltrated Akatsuki under the name Uchiha Hikari 205 211 216 334 431.

In the Date A Live world, Lin Guang lived for nearly ten years as the adoptive older brother of Shido and Kotori Itsuka. Publicly a web novelist, he secretly founded Sa.vior and commanded the space battleship Fatebreaker. He subsequently traveled as a Pokémon researcher and Trainer before developing his own territory in another world and declaring himself a Demon Lord 509 580 616 703 797.

Appearance

• Ordinary appearance: Originally has black hair and black eyes; initially looks no older than sixteen or seventeen 1 35.
• Ice-powered appearance: Hair turns snowy white and eyes become crystalline ice blue when he fully manifests the Ice-Ice Fruit’s power. Full integration during the final battle against Muzan makes his silvery-white hair and ice-blue eyes permanent 35 129.
• Spirit Eye activation: His eyes turn blue, with blue light visible during combat 16 22.

Personality

Lin Guang emphasizes composure and survival in combat. Although the Hand Demon’s treatment of his childhood friends enrages him, he warns Tanjiro that vengeance is meaningless if they lose control and die. He applies the same lesson when Tanjiro rushes into the Swamp Demon’s attacks 5 6 14.

He is protective of civilians and companions, but his pursuit of treasure chests also shapes his decisions. He often takes demon kills for himself, realizes that this has damaged Tanjiro’s confidence, and responds by offering guidance and shareable system rewards. After Final Selection, he admits privately that rescuing people felt rewarding even when treasure was his initial motive 8 24 25.

His treatment of demons depends on their behavior rather than their species alone. He defends Nezuko because she protects humans, trusts Tamayo’s nonlethal way of obtaining blood, and recruits Rose under conditions forbidding harm to people. His compassion can coexist with possessiveness: he openly seeks controllable subordinates and asserts ownership over Rose’s life 20 35 41 49 50.

He is openly attracted to several women and frequently teases those close to him. His affection for Tamayo predates his reincarnation, while his concern for Shinobu includes both emotional reassurance and efforts to prevent her from relying on wisteria-infused water for revenge 21 24 46 50.

His willingness to intervene is selective rather than indiscriminately altruistic. After saving Daki as Lin Mei, he acknowledges that he cannot save everyone and privately makes an exception for beautiful women. In Amegakure, his ruthlessness extends to killing the two children who helped lure him into an ambush along with the attacking ninja 79 80 294 295.

Lin Guang often encourages others to develop their own wishes and use power for meaningful ends. He asks Inori what she wants for herself and challenges Sabrina’s fixation on becoming strongest, ultimately helping her reconnect with her family. He also rejects the Gravekeeper’s offer to become Adam and destroy the world 143 173 665 666.

He values personal freedom over administrative prestige, declining Tsunade’s suggestion that he consider becoming Hokage because he dislikes office work. This does not prevent him from later building a territory and preparing to establish a nation of his own 423 797.

Myriad Worlds Treasure Box System

The system initially gives Lin Guang a chance to obtain treasure chests when he kills demons. Rewards include equipment, enhancement potions, techniques, chakra, and unique skills. Later upgrades expand the available drop conditions to other worlds and activities 1 10 24 31 39 130.

• Kill ownership matters: Demons killed by Tanjiro or Kanao do not generate chests for him 4 7.
• Drops are not guaranteed: Some slain demons leave no chest 7.
• Stronger enemies can yield better rewards: Kyogai drops one Bronze and two Black Iron Treasure Chests, while ordinary demons provide Wooden Treasure Chests 4 28.
• Artificial strengthening does not improve drops: The system states that a demon strengthened by his skill does not receive an increased drop rate 48.

Yin-Yang Breathing Style

When Lin Guang unseals Ice Breathing and Sun Breathing in the shinobi world, the two combine and absorb the still-sealed Water Breathing. The system explains that fusion becomes possible because his understanding of Ice Breathing has finally advanced to a level comparable to his understanding of Sun Breathing 419 420.

The advanced unique skill maintains his body in a balanced state and helps settle his emotions. Its initial development produces two techniques, with a third mastered later. Subsequent narration and status panels continue to call its techniques “Sun Breathing,” despite the explicit fusion into Yin-Yang Breathing Style 420 442 466 523.

Spirit Eye and Telepathy

Spirit Eye enhances visual processing, while Telepathy provides detailed awareness of his surroundings 16 39.

• Dynamic vision: Moving objects appear to travel at half speed 16.
• Invisible phenomena: Sees ghosts, Yahaba’s guiding arrows, and the tormented souls surrounding Muzan 16 18 22.
• Attack prediction: Reads Kyogai’s impending drum strikes and adjusts to the mansion’s rotations 28.
• Telepathy range: Initially senses details within a ten-meter radius 39.

• Shave: Repeatedly kicks off the ground to generate high-speed movement; used for evasions, rescues, and rapid sword attacks 24 28 33.
• Iron Body and Geppo: Learns both after Mount Natagumo, with a slight increase in bodily strength 39.
• Shave Blade: Combines Shave and Geppo to move rapidly through the air. He uses it while carrying Nezuko’s box to evade Sanemi’s Wind Breathing attack 41.
• Kami-e: Obtained from a later chest opening alongside additional chakra and resistance rewards 64.
• Sharing techniques: Uses duplicate scrolls and other rewards to strengthen companions; Shinobu and Rose both master all Six Powers during the months following the Mugen Train battle 64 67.

Clone Techniques and Chakra

The Clone Technique creates an identical chakra-based duplicate that disappears when damaged. Lin Guang later learns the Shadow Clone Technique as well 24 39.

Cosmo

Lin Guang obtains Cosmo from a Starlight Platinum Treasure Chest. It absorbs Mental Control, Flash, Forced Sleep, Dream Creation, Curse Purification, Status Ailment Immunity, Grandmaster-Level Close-Quarters Combat, Six Powers, Conqueror’s Haki, Armament Haki, and Observation Haki, advancing to the Seventh Sense 563.

• Planetary perception: Feels the breath and life of the planet and perceives everything on it 563.
• Combat amplification: Channels Cosmo through his body and Hyōrinmaru while preparing a breathing technique against Mio’s Third Angel 625.
• Power Stone interaction: The Power Stone nearly doubles the size of his Cosmo while strengthening the other Stones 632.
• Latest status: Remains a listed ability when his combat rating reaches planet-destroying level 784.

King of Charisma

King of Charisma enhances Lin Guang’s appeal to others. Its effect combines with the Ogres’ respect for strength to sharply increase Shion’s affection for him, bringing it into romantic attraction 767.

Talismans

The talismans originate from Jackie Chan Adventures and merge their powers into Lin Guang’s body. His later status lists all twelve 103 628 632 784.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

• White Nichirin Blade — Forged by Haganezuka from unusual tamahagane selected for compatibility with the Ice-Ice Fruit. The material resists ordinary forging temperatures 9 12 22.
• Frost Haori — White haori with pale blue frost patterns; slightly reduces enemies’ ability to sense its wearer 10 34.
• Spatial Ring — Contains ten cubic meters of storage and normally excludes living beings. Frozen Seal allows him to store Rose inside it 2 35.
