Lin Guang met Aervi's gaze and said with a slight smile, "In that case, I'll get straight to the point. I'm here to recruit you."
Hearing Lin Guang's words, Aervi nodded slightly.
As a Beastfolk, Aervi had never liked roundabout conversations, so Lin Guang's direct approach greatly improved her impression of him.
"Recruit me?"
Aervi looked at Lin Guang in some surprise, then said with a hint of self-mockery, "You must have learned quite a bit about me lately. I imagine you also know that I'm crippled now."
Seeing Aervi's dejected expression, Lin Guang acknowledged it. "That's right. You spent two years wandering and nearly ended up in the jaws of an A-rank magical beast. Although you survived in the end, you had no choice but to live in seclusion in a little place like this."
Hearing Lin Guang's words, Aervi looked pained, unsure what to say for a moment.
But unexpectedly, Lin Guang said, "However, I have a way to heal you. As for the price..."
Lin Guang's words instantly drew Aervi's attention. But when she heard him pause, she knew there was no such thing as a free lunch. To gain something, she would have to pay a certain price.
Seeing that Aervi was listening attentively, Lin Guang smiled slightly and continued, "...after I heal you, you'll have to serve me for three years."
"I think you should be able to accept those terms."
With that, Lin Guang left the choice in Aervi's hands and waited for her response.
Hearing Lin Guang's words, Aervi found it somewhat unbelievable. After all, no one knew better than she did just how serious her injuries were, yet all Lin Guang asked was that she become his servant for three years.
To Aervi, this could only be called a completely unequal exchange.
