After Hisoka leaned in and whispered a few words into their ears, Gon and Killua's eyes instantly turned grave.
Before Cordis could figure out why their expressions had changed so quickly,
Gon and Killua came over to him, each grabbed one of his hands, and began urging him to go home.
That gave Cordis a pretty good idea of what Hisoka had told them.
But that was fine, too. It saved him the trouble of persuading the two energetic kids to go home.
Just as Cordis was about to take the two boys home, Kurapika suddenly called out to him from behind.
"Cordis, here's the shirt I accidentally dirtied a couple of days ago. I've washed it for you."
"I'm sorry."
With that, Kurapika took out a paper bag containing Cordis's expensive shirt.
Cordis didn't check whether the shirt was still intact. After accepting the paper bag,
he opened his arms and gave Kurapika a big hug.
"Kurapika, until we meet again."
The hug left Kurapika at a loss for a moment. Just as Cordis savored that rare warmth, he let go and prepared to head back with Gon and Killua.
"Cordis, when will we meet again?"
Watching Cordis's figure recede into the distance, Kurapika suddenly called out.
Cordis stopped at his words, glanced back with a smile, and waved goodbye to Kurapika.
"If fate wills it, we will meet again."
With those words, Cordis continued out of the airport, gradually disappearing down the street.
Reluctant to let him go, Kurapika stared at the spot where Cordis had vanished, murmuring over and over, "If fate wills it, we will meet again."
Fate? What would count as fate bringing us together?
Did what the two of us had count?
Kurapika didn't know, but this wasn't something he could afford to think
