Cordis hurriedly steered the conversation back to [Greed Island].
"Can I still take part in the selection for [Greed Island]? Of course, if I could fight alongside you, Mr. Jeter Shari, it would be an absolute honor!"
As he spoke, admiration once again shone in Cordis's eyes. Jeter Shari could never resist that sort of admiring gaze, especially from a cute boy like Cordis.
Of course, it was perfectly normal for an elder to look after someone younger.
He readily agreed to Cordis's request, but then looked at him with a grave expression.
"The others have already gone, and there aren't any slots left. But I have a really old version here. It might have a few bugs."
With that, he led Cordis to a storeroom full of clutter. After rummaging around, he found a dust-covered game console in a corner.
A chill ran through Cordis when he heard Jeter Shari mention possible bugs, and he asked cautiously.
"What kind of bugs?"
"Nothing too serious. It'll probably pick someone at random and teleport you to them at the start. Of course, it won't affect the basic gameplay."
Cordis finally breathed a sigh of relief. It was just random teleportation. How bad could that be?
By then, Jeter Shari had helped Cordis set up the old game console. After another round of rummaging, the two found a memory card and a ring in some obscure corner.
Both were covered in layers of dust.
After finding somewhere to hook it up, Jeter Shari handed the console to Cordis.
"Hardly anyone comes here. Remember to lock the door. I'll be going now. See you in the game."
With that, he turned and left the storeroom.
After watching Jeter Shari leave, Cordis still felt uneasy, so he found some heavy objects and firmly barricaded
