The scenery was picturesque, with towering mountains all around. The locals were warm and simple, and several older women offered Cordis food almost as soon as he arrived.

Cordis studied Nobunaga's face. His eyes were bloodshot, and he seemed to have lost some weight. Cordis continued speaking, despite the silence.
"Nobunaga, I bear some responsibility for Uvogin's death, but... all I can do is ask you to come to terms with it and move on as soon as you can. Uvogin wouldn't want to see you like this."
At last, Nobunaga responded. With a cold snort, he hurled the bottle in his hand at Cordis. Cordis did not dodge, and the half-full bottle struck his temple.
