Cordis and Knuckle watched Gido rapidly disappear into the distance without choosing to pursue him.
Seeing Gido flee, Knuckle planted his hands on his hips, looking certain of victory. "Hahaha! As long as Potclean stays with him, I'll know roughly where he is."
"Then we just have to catch up and finish him off quickly."
Cordis picked up the Eyepatch that had been flung aside and put it on. Raising his gaze slightly toward Gido's retreating figure, he asked, "Doesn't Potclean stop working once it leaves you?"
At those words, Knuckle immediately looked deeply wounded and shouted reproachfully at Cordis, "Hey! We've been together all this time, and you still haven't figured out my Nen Ability!"
"All that happens is Potclean can't calculate the interest!"
Cordis looked speechless at that explanation and nodded along halfheartedly. He walked over to the car and pulled open the driver's door, then suddenly glanced back at Knuckle with a rare hint of seriousness.
"One correction: it's not that I didn't know, it's that you never told me. And we've only been together for less than a week."
With that, he got into the driver's seat without looking back.
Just as Knuckle was about to open the passenger door and get in, he discovered it was locked. Furious, he pounded on the glass, and Cordis rolled down the window.
Before Knuckle could speak, Cordis said, "I drove for two days without sleeping or resting while you snoozed beside me. Today, it's your turn to show what you can do."
Cordis pointed toward the back as he spoke. "The rear tires have several holes in them. Find a way to patch them."
Knuckle immediately launched into a stream of complaints. Cordis, of course, paid no attention to his grumbling and simply rolled the window back up.
