With that, Cordis jumped down without hesitation.
A pure white space greeted him. It was small, less than fifty meters across, but served as their temporary shelter. Once Morel saw that everyone had come down,
he checked the watch on his wrist and said, "The operation starts in seven minutes. I'll remind you when there's one minute left. Gather at the exit then."
"Until then, stand by."
Everyone made their way to a corner and began resting.
There were plenty of snacks laid out in the space. Unlike the others, who were taking it easy, Cordis leaned against a wall, anxiously biting his finger.
Gon, who had been discussing which flavor of snack tasted best with Killua, couldn't help finding this strange. He picked up a bag of chips and held it out to Cordis, concern on his face.
"Are you okay? You look really nervous."
His words snapped Cordis out of his daze. The instant he came back to himself, a sharp sting shot through his hand.
"Ah! You're hurt! You really need to be more careful!"
Gon cried out.
Cordis took a pack of adhesive bandages from his loose sleeve and put one over the wound on his hand. Noticing that Gon kept staring at the bandages,
Cordis gave him the rest.
Gon accepted the bandages, full of questions. "Why do you carry bandages around with you?"
Cordis hadn't seemed to expect that question. He rubbed his chin and thought for a moment. "Probably because I get hurt a lot. Back then, bandages were the best medical supplies I had."
"No matter what kind of injury it was, I'd put a bandage on it, get some sleep, and be completely healed!"
Hearing this, Gon offered the bandages back to Cordis. "Then these must be really important to you."
