Somewhere in the clear blue sky, space twisted and spun as though churned by a washing machine.
As a star-ring-like halo abruptly expanded, a black hole portal tore through spacetime and opened above Long Island.
A tall young man in a casual jacket stepped out of the spherical portal. Behind him, the black hole's ring of light expanded once more, then rapidly collapsed and vanished completely.
The famous landmark, the Statue of Liberty, was visible along the coastline below, so this modern metropolis bristling with skyscrapers was undoubtedly New York City, which had been nuked into peace countless times across various parallel worlds.
Although he had already visited another world's New York, the people in this world were far more "decent" than those under Spider-Man's watch.
Josen took his first breath of this world's air, considered it for a moment, and delivered his pointed verdict.
"The air here doesn't seem all that sweet either?"
He extended his Mantra, and biomagnetic fields distinct from those of ordinary humans appeared in his perception, one after another.
Most of these biomagnetic fields were of limited strength, roughly equivalent to B-Class and C-Class heroes in the One-Punch Man World. Very few could be called powerful.
"Huh..."
In the concrete jungle, a building soaring into the clouds caught Josen's attention.
That building alone contained more than ten superhuman biomagnetic fields, and five or six of them were powerful enough to deserve the word.
"What's that place?"
Josen turned his curious gaze toward it. At his mental direction, the feedback from Mantra constructed a 3D map of most of New York City in his mind.
One building in central Manhattan was specifically highlighted.
Whether in location, grandeur, or height, it was essentially comparable to Stark Tower over in Marvel.
"Vought... Oh, so that's where this is."
