Dr. Genus coughed. "Call him boss!"
"Yes-boss!"
"This fellow lacks the will to fight. I was originally going to destroy him outright."
Dr. Genus shot an irritated glare at Armored Great Ape, whose helmet was covered in cascading sweat, his expression helpless.
"But we're short-staffed at the base right now, so as punishment, I've temporarily reassigned him to cleaning duty. My apologies for his rudeness."
"So that's how it is."
After listening to Dr. Genus's explanation, Josen nodded and patted Armored Great Ape's belly.
"Then work hard for the doctor. If you dare do anything bad, I'll kill you."
Drenched in sweat, Armored Great Ape shuddered, stood at attention, and saluted.
"...Absolutely not, boss!!"
"All right, get back to work." Josen waved the ape back to his duties, then pointed at one of the cultivation chambers. "This time, let's pick this fellow."
Dr. Genus looked at the creature sleeping in the chamber Josen had indicated and nodded. "Of course. I'll run the awakening procedure right away and let him out to serve you."
Five minutes later, the pale green culture fluid drained away, and a shifty-eyed mole monster inside the chamber abruptly opened his eyes.

The newly awakened Ground Dragon became a blur, landing swiftly on the floor and baring ten sharp, drill-like claws.
Though small, he had an imposing presence. One look at his claws made it clear that this fellow had to be very good at digging.
Ground Dragon's small, inverted-triangle eyes swept past the unfamiliar Josen and settled on Dr. Genus. He bowed respectfully and said in a sinister voice, "Doctor, who are we assassinating this time? Or are we kidnapping someone!?"
