Thor's little brother, still in his rebellious phase, felt insulted. With a cold snort, he raised the Mind Scepter and thrust its tip toward Josen's completely unguarded chest.
Since arriving on Earth, Loki had used this move to control quite a few Earthlings and make them serve him. He had yet to fail.

Not one of these Earthlings could put up a fight!
His undefeated record had left Loki thoroughly full of himself.
Yet when that clink rang out, Loki's heart lurched, as though a crack had appeared in something.
The tip of the Mind Scepter seemed to have struck a steel plate. A full ten centimeters from Josen, it could advance no farther.

Rainbow-colored polygonal force field patterns flickered to life, opposing and canceling out the energy glow released by the Mind Stone.
Josen understood. Although the Mind Stone was an infinite-level cosmic artifact, the Mind Scepter built around it only brought out part of the stone's abilities.
Not to mention that, with Loki's strength, he thought himself invincible after mind-controlling a few Earthlings. In reality, he could not unleash the true power of an Infinity Stone at all.
The sinister smile Loki had just put on froze on his face. Refusing to believe it, he jabbed several more times, producing a string of clinks.
Nothing happened.
"Uh... how could this happen?"

Hearing Josen's puzzled question, the proud God of Mischief's face alternated between green and white. He clenched his fists and roared, "Enough! You lowly, despicable mortal! How dare you insult a true god like this! I'm telling you... huh?"
A swift black blur flashed past. Loki felt as though he were soaring through the clouds as Josen scooped up his left foot, and the rooftop floor rapidly grew
