The fresh scent of grass drifted around her nose.
A woman lay on a stretch of low-growing grass. She had long black hair and wore a pale blue nightdress trimmed with lace. Her skin was smooth as cream, her delicate lips rosy, and her thick, slender lashes swept downward. A faint pink blush showed through her fair, flawless skin.
Her eyes were tightly shut. With her legs bent, the hem of her dress had ridden up, revealing her long, slender, fair legs.
Suddenly, a black butterfly fluttered past and settled on the woman's dainty nose.
"Achoo-"
A soft sneeze sounded, and the butterfly immediately flew away.
She opened her eyes and abruptly looked around at this unfamiliar world.
A clear, unpolluted blue sky dotted with white clouds, tall, lush green trees not far away, soft grass beneath her, and plenty of little pink and yellow flowers scattered through it.
A flicker of bewilderment crossed her clear eyes. The electrical socket in her home had exploded. Before she could react, her vision had gone black and she had passed out. She should have died. How had she ended up in this unfamiliar place?
Before she could think it through, the sound of hoofbeats came from behind her.
"Well, well, a beauty." A grown man's deep, loud voice rang out.
Hearing the voice behind her, Xu Zhiqiu turned to look. She saw a man wearing battered warrior armor and holding a katana, killing intent radiating from him. He had long black hair and a handsome face, his lips curled into an unrestrained grin as he stared at her exposed calves with undisguised wickedness.
At the sight of this creep, Xu Zhiqiu realized something was wrong. She quickly drew her feet back and watched him warily, feeling around with her hands. She found nothing, and her mind went completely blank.
!! What was this place?! Judging by his gear, he looked like someone from that little island nation!
"Onigumo, what are you muttering about?" Another rough voice came from a short distance away.
The man called Onigumo turned toward his companions nearby and said, "Nothing. You go ahead. I'll catch up."
"All right."
After speaking to his companions, Onigumo turned back toward the beauty he had just discovered, only to find that pale blue figure disappearing into the distance.
He gave a nasty grin, kicked his horse, and urged it toward her with the reins.
Trying to run? She didn't know her own limits.
Xu Zhiqiu pumped her arms, running forward with every bit of speed she had used in the hundred-meter sprint for her college fitness test. Her bare feet struck the soft grass, but she slipped, stumbled forward, and fell flat on her face.
She pushed against the grass and got to her feet, an aching pain spreading through her ankle. Her face crumpled. If she had known she would accidentally transmigrate, she would never have curled both feet up onto her chair just because her slippers were wet.
A force came from behind her. Within seconds, Xu Zhiqiu cried out as she was hauled onto the horse.
Onigumo wrapped his arms around the woman's waist. Even without leaning closer, he could smell the sweet fragrance drifting from her, nothing like the women he had held in the teahouses. His grip tightened, and he lowered his head to breathe in more, only for her delicate hands to cover his face as her clear voice rang out.
"Pervert!"
The man's overpowering stench rushed into Xu Zhiqiu's nose. She frowned, and when she saw him trying to lean closer again, disgust flashed in her eyes. Without hesitation, she reached out and covered his face, keeping him away.
"Heh." Onigumo gave a low chuckle.
Xu Zhiqiu did not understand why this creep was laughing until she felt wetness against her palm. Her eyes flew wide in disbelief, and without hesitation, she slapped him.
The crisp sound broke sharply through the silence around them.
Killing intent filled Onigumo's wicked eyes. This woman had actually dared to slap him in the face.
"Let go of me." Sensing his killing intent, Xu Zhiqiu twisted her body, resisting his approach.
A blade was soon pressed against Xu Zhiqiu's neck. Its edge was somewhat dull, but blood appeared when it touched her slender, fair throat.
She no longer dared to move. She had lost her nerve.
"Don't do anything rash." Pain came from her neck as Xu Zhiqiu looked at the man timidly and spoke.
Sure enough, only a weapon in hand could make the weak submit.
Onigumo drew her into his arms and lowered his head to smell the fragrance at her neck, feeling her tremble with fear. He took a deep sniff. "Woman, do you still dare to hit me?"
As he spoke, the large hand wrapped around her waist began sliding down to grope her.
"N-no." Xu Zhiqiu lowered her head, not daring to look at the man, her lips pressed tightly together. Her mind was a complete mess. She was nothing more than an upstanding young citizen with no particular abilities. Was she really going to be killed in this unfamiliar world? If she died, could she go back?
Because Xu Zhiqiu was so tense, the object around her neck emitted a faint blue-green glow. It shone briefly, then quickly vanished.
Onigumo keenly noticed the light. He moved the blade away, holding it behind him, and reached toward Xu Zhiqiu's neck.
His greasy hand touched her neck. Xu Zhiqiu gritted her teeth, wondering whether she should fight him, when she saw him grab the red cord around her neck. Curiosity glinted in his eyes as he began pulling out the object hanging from it.
A small fortune-gourd pendant carved from warm blue-green Hotan jade came into view.
Seeing her ancestral pendant exposed and the satisfaction in the man's eyes, Xu Zhiqiu could only grit her teeth and try to bargain for her life. "I can give you this. Will you let me go?"
Onigumo snapped out of his reverie, cut the red cord with his blade, and put away the jade he had stolen. Looking into the woman's frightened, clear eyes, he grinned nastily and said crudely, "You're trying to bargain with a bandit like me? I want both the woman and the valuables."
As he spoke, he lowered his head again to kiss Xu Zhiqiu's lips.
Terrified, Xu Zhiqiu hurriedly blocked him, but she could only protect her lips. He planted a kiss on her cheek instead.
Seeing Xu Zhiqiu resist, a flicker of interest crossed Onigumo's eyes. He looked around and rode toward an inhabited area. After all, a beauty deserved to be properly savored.
With that thought, he tugged the long hair behind her, drawing a soft moan.
With a voice that lovely, he wanted to f- her even more.
Onigumo's eyes darkened, lust undisguised in his gaze.
"Hold on tight. Don't blame me if you fall off," the man said.
Xu Zhiqiu could only swallow her humiliation and endure. Forcing herself to bear his stench, she shakily reached out and wrapped her arms around his strong waist.
