"Xu Zhiqiu, where in Kaede's Village did you appear out of thin air?" Naraku asked her.
Xu Zhiqiu looked up at him. "Are you curious about how I appeared? Don't worry. I don't have any spiritual power. I won't affect your existence."
Naraku pressed his lips together. They moved slightly, but in the end, he said nothing. He stood up. "Don't try anything clever. Stay here and behave."
"Oh," Xu Zhiqiu replied halfheartedly.
The difficult, tedious day passed, and night quietly fell.
"Roar!" The continuous howls of monsters came from outside the room.
Xu Zhiqiu knew her chance had come. She shouldered her backpack, took her sword, and opened the door a crack to look outside. Once she was sure no one was there, she quickly slipped out and ran in another direction.
The monsters had appeared near the front gate. As Xu Zhiqiu ran out through the back gate, servants' panicked cries mingled with the monsters' howls. She turned to look back and caught sight of the Giant Spider from behind.
Beyond the back gate lay a wooded mountainside. Xu Zhiqiu hurried into the trees and reached the wall of the Lord of the Castle's Residence. It was three meters high, too tall for her to climb.
Xu Zhiqiu grew anxious. The scabbard in her hand twitched. She drew the sword and slashed at the solid wall.
Bang!
A hole broke open in the wall.
A thick, earthy smell rushed into her nose.
Xu Zhiqiu covered her nose. So this sword was just as powerful as that axe. She had been too hasty.
With an escape route open, Xu Zhiqiu bolted at a hundred-meter sprint.
