Dai Mubai patted the dust off his body, trying to look elegant and dignified.
"I was careless just now. What of it if I let you have a kick?" Dai Mubai glanced disdainfully at Cao De, displaying his might as a formidable soul master as best as he could.
The Thousand-Blade Demon Sword materialized in Cao De's hand, accompanied by three soul rings-purple, purple, and black.
His First Soul Ring had already upgraded back when he hunted his second soul ring, costing a mere 150 Emotion Points. As for why the subsequent ones hadn't upgraded, it was because he ran out of Emotion Points.
Seeing the three soul rings, Dai Mubai froze, his gaze turning sluggish.
"How is this possible?" Dai Mubai muttered, his eyes filled with sheer disbelief.
He was a prince of the Star Luo Empire, and his Soul Ring Configuration was already of the highest grade.
Fake. It had to be fake. It was definitely an illusion-type soul skill.
Dai Mubai's expression shifted as a smile reappeared at the corners of his mouth.
"Kid, illusions should have limits. To pull out a Thousand-Year Soul Ring straight out for your First Soul Ring, who do you think you're fooling?" Dai Mubai crossed his arms, his eyes brimming with contempt.
Cao De grew a bit angry. He really didn't want to waste time on this idiot.
He had raised Xiao Wu for so long, waited so eagerly, even prepared her battle robe and buffed himself with all sorts of enhancements, only for someone to try and stop him now.
Unforgivable.
Without another word, Cao De directly deployed a soul skill.
"First Soul Skill, Draw Cut!"
Surrounded by a swirl of purple light, Cao De picked up a nearby broom and charged straight at Dai Mubai.
Dai Mubai caught sight of only a flash of purple.
"White Tiger-Ugh." He barely managed to spit out those two words before something suddenly jammed right into his mouth, and a tremendous force slammed against his waist.
Dai Mubai blasted backward through the air, smashing straight through the opposite wall and instantly passing out cold.
"Brother!" Xiao Wu trotted over, and upon discovering that Cao De had used a broom, she let out an immediate sigh of relief.
Good thing nobody was going to die.
The two women with wavy hair shivered near the wall. Cao De merely swept a cool glance over them.
Then he walked toward the counter.
The receptionist crouching beneath the counter snapped instantly to attention.
"Respected Lord Soul Master!"
"A room. The best one," Cao De said.
"Alright, right away, we still-" When the receptionist caught the look Cao De shot her, she hurriedly changed her tune.
"We still have one best room left. If you'd like-"
"Xiao Wu, what do you think?" Hesitation flickered across Cao De's face.
"Ah? One room?" A blush bloomed across Xiao Wu's cheeks.
Ever since their first year, they had been separated into different dormitories, and she had never slept with Cao De again.
She only knew that when a man and a woman confirmed their relationship and slept together, strange things would happen.
If they slept together tonight, would strange things happen?
Xiao Wu recalled the picture books she had read previously, casting Cao De as the male lead and herself as the heroine, and her little face flushed instantly red.
Seeing this reaction, Cao De knew immediately what was going on in the little rabbit's head.
She truly was a lewd little rabbit.
"Xiao Wu, let's just take this room. I'll sleep on the couch and you can take the bed. It'll be fine," Cao De said with a smile.
Happiness had to be seized by oneself, Cao De firmly believed.
"The very best room, then." Cao De decisively paid the fee and took the room.
Xiao Wu remained immersed in the dilemma of Cao De sleeping on the couch while she took the bed, and whether she should give Cao De a chance.
"Xiao Wu, we're here." Cao De stroked Xiao Wu's head.
"It's not... impossible," Xiao Wu murmured softly.
"What?" Cao De looked a bit puzzled.
"It's nothing. Let's go in." A resolute look flashed across Xiao Wu's face, as though she were about to step onto a battlefield.
It seemed the little rabbit was ready.
Cao De smoothly closed the door behind them.
The Rose Hotel was a notorious couples' hotel, and this particular room was their finest.
Pink decor, a heart-shaped giant bed, a glass bathroom, and a little seal model on the headboard all screamed luxury.
Every detail betrayed the distinctive features of a themed couples' hotel.
As it happened, Cao De rather liked those features.
Upon seeing the transparent glass, Xiao Wu's face grew somewhat flushed.
"This glass is so strange." Cao De looked bewildered, gazing innocently at Xiao Wu.
"I-I don't know either," Xiao Wu replied, staring at the glass as she undoubtedly associated it with something.
"When I take a bath, you aren't allowed to peek!" Cao De crossed his arms over his chest, eyeing Xiao Wu with suspicion.
"Who would look at you, hmph!" Xiao Wu huffed indignantly and threw herself straight onto the bed, burying her head deep into the covers.
Would Cao De be hard, just like in the picture books? The image of Cao De bathing involuntarily surfaced in Xiao Wu's mind.
This caused her already blushing cheeks to flush an even deeper red.
"Xiao Wu, I'm going to take a bath first. Don't peek, okay?" Cao De walked straight toward the bathroom.
Before long, the splashing sound of water rang out, occasionally accompanied by Cao De humming a tune.
Xiao Wu lay flat on her stomach beneath the covers, pressing her head down desperately to avoid hearing the sound.
Yet Cao De's parting warning-'Don't peek'-kept echoing in her mind.
'Don't peek'
'Peek'
'Peek'
Peek.
As the final word landed, Xiao Wu slowly turned her head to the side, sneaking a peek toward the direction of the bathroom.
Their gazes met.
Separated by the glass, Cao De stared straight into Xiao Wu's eyes.
"Xiao Wu, you actually-" Cao De wore a look of utter disbelief.
"I didn't mean to!" Xiao Wu buried her head completely, sticking her little bottom high up in the air-a posture made all the more lethal by her form-fitting battle robe.
Cao De immediately turned off the water, hastily wiped away the water droplets on his body, wrapped a bathrobe around himself at random, and strode out quickly.
Slap!
A crisp sound echoed through the pink room.
"Ow!" Xiao Wu waved her little fists and pounced straight at Cao De.
Whoosh.
The white bathrobe slipped to the floor.
"Xiao Wu." Cao De sat on the edge of the bed and pulled Xiao Wu over to sit beside him.
"Brother, are you uncomfortable?" Xiao Wu asked softly.
Recalling everything from their days at Nuoding Academy, she had fallen for this man long ago, hadn't she?
Having made up her mind, Xiao Wu-
"No need!" Cao De hurriedly stopped her.
A specially prepared battle outfit.
"Xiao Wu, I like you." Cao De pulled Xiao Wu into a tight embrace.
"Brother, I like you too."
The two of them exchanged breaths.
This made Xiao Wu feel very...
"Brother, I need to use the restroom," Xiao Wu whispered softly.
"I'll help you."
Story Time: The Tale of the Desert
The camel's humps stood revealed upon the desert sands, yet strangely enough, there was no grass to be found anywhere upon the desert.
Between the humps was stored a supply of fresh milk, and perhaps due to the exposure to sunlight, the long-preserved milk spilled forth directly.
This lent a different sort of color to the parched desert.
Seeing the milk flow away like this, the camel's master knew this wouldn't do, and could only search for a suitable object to plug the leak.
The plug proved so forceful that it actually drew blood.
The camel's master could only slowly draw it back out, searching at a leisurely pace for the proper position.
Yet only by plugging it to the deepest point could the flow be better stemmed.
The camel's master seemed to have forgotten that the longer it remained plugged, the more the accumulated milk would gather with nowhere to vent. When the time finally came to pull it out, it would only spill forth in even greater quantities.
The story of the desert camel had come to an end.
[Xiao Wu is excited, happy, resentful, generating massive emotion in the host, Emotion Points: 50. Remaining Emotion Points: 315]
Xiao Wu truly lived up to being a hundred-thousand-year rabbit; many drops gathered into a torrent, and the water flowed ceaselessly, impossible to stem-truly impossible to stem.
Cao De could finally consider himself acquainted with the terrifying might of the Innate Sacred Body.
He had never noticed Xiao Wu drinking all that much water ordinarily, so it seemed this wasn't strictly proportional.
Cao De reached a conclusion.
"I can't take any more, Brother," Xiao Wu murmured, her gaze hazy and filled with a fine mist of moisture. These weren't tears; this was love.
"Alright." Cao De pulled Xiao Wu into his arms.
As it happened, he needed to wait out his cooldown anyway. If he developed her too much all at once, it would leave psychological shadows.
The system seemed to have just given a prompt, though Cao De had rarely checked the system after Tang San left.
At the very beginning, he had harvested plenty of Emotion Points from Xiao Wu, but as time went on, they dwindled until even her volatile mood swings yielded a mere 5 Emotion Points.
Regarding this, Cao De felt quite helpless as well.
Now that he had acquired such a massive haul of Emotion Points, however, Cao De was all the happier. Double the joy.
Cao De turned the system prompts up to maximum volume. He had an idea.
Xiao Wu hugged Cao De's arm, the wisps of hair on her forehead dampened by sweat and clinging to her skin, while she muttered softly under her breath.
If one listened closely, only two words could be heard: "No more, no more."
As everyone knew, cooldown reduction was tied to the Blue Buff.
Cao De discovered that his Great Sun Heart Method functioned as a tremendously powerful Blue Buff.
"Xiao Wu," Cao De called out, waking Xiao Wu from her brief slumber.
"Brother~" Xiao Wu stared at the carrot, her eyes brimming with bewilderment.
"I know Xiao Wu is tired, so let's use this place instead." Cao De pointed to a certain spot.
Xiao Wu's eyes were filled with confusion.
