After Yu Xiaogang was taken away, Tang San felt rather depressed.
Ning Rongrong gradually stopped crying in Cao De's arms. Only then did she belatedly realize whose embrace she was in.
Ning Rongrong immediately let go, her little face flushed. "Thank you, Cao De."
"Don't put yourself down. You're wonderful too," Cao De comforted her gently.
Beside them, Xiao Wu felt strange inside.
Tang San stared fixedly at the scene.
So Rongrong really is angry with me because of Teacher! Damn that Yu Xiaogang!
Tang San roared inwardly.
"Grandmaster isn't feeling well. I'll be teaching the class instead." A voice came from a burly figure in the distance.
Zhao Wuji strode over.
Everyone automatically lined up.
Thick disgust flashed through Tang San's eyes when he saw Zhao Wuji, but remembering Yu Xiaogang's words, he suppressed his displeasure.
"I'm Zhao Wuji. You all know me, so I won't bother introducing myself. Now, let's begin our first lesson."
Zhao Wuji pointed at Oscar in the crowd. "Oscar, step forward and show us your Martial Soul."
"Yes!" Oscar's face brimmed with a smile.
He finally had a chance to show off. He had specifically tidied himself up today so Ning Rongrong would look at him.
Oscar stood beside Zhao Wuji and straightened his clothes, thinking he looked handsome.
"I'm a rank twenty-nine food-type Soul Master. My Martial Soul is a sausage."
"Oscar is a food-type Soul Master. Your first lesson today is to eat the sausages he makes," Zhao Wuji said.
"Oscar, begin."
"Yes, Teacher Zhao."
Oscar bent his knees slightly, his expression looking constipated. "I Have a Big Sausage!"
A red sausage appeared in Oscar's hand, and he looked up at everyone.
Xiao Wu and the other girls frowned slightly. Oscar's movements, expression, and words all reeked of sleaziness and disgust.
Seeing their resistant expressions, Zhao Wuji said coldly, "This is your first step toward becoming powerful Soul Masters. In battle, refusing to eat Oscar's sausages could cost you your lives! Do you understand?"
Zhao Wuji swept his gaze over them, then fixed it on the openly reluctant Ning Rongrong.
"You. Ning Rongrong, you go first." Zhao Wuji pointed at her.
Ning Rongrong shook her head, her meaning obvious.
Zhao Wuji's gaze grew stern.
Seeing this, Tang San knew his opportunity had arrived.
"Teacher Zhao, let me go first." Tang San stepped forward and took the sausage from Oscar.
He winked at Ning Rongrong, then swallowed the sausage in one bite without a change of expression.
Tang San was secretly overjoyed. He had just helped Rongrong out of a tight spot. She would definitely be grateful!
"Tang San is so disgusting," Ning Rongrong whispered to Cao De.
Hearing that, Cao De couldn't help chuckling.
You bootlicker, Tang San. What would you think if you heard what Ning Rongrong just said?
Cao De couldn't help wondering.
Seeing the smile on Cao De's face, Ning Rongrong's heart fluttered.
What did I just say that made Cao De happy? I think I was mocking Tang San. Why would mocking Tang San make him happy?
He saw me walking with Tang San earlier, and it upset him.
Ning Rongrong understood. Cao De minded her earlier interactions with Tang San. He really does have feelings for me!
I have to stay far away from Tang San from now on so Cao De won't misunderstand.
Once Ning Rongrong figured it out, a smile spread across her face, curving her eyes into crescents.
Seeing this, Tang San was instantly delighted. Sure enough, helping Rongrong out just now made her happy!
I really am a genius!
Tang San gave himself a mental thumbs-up.
Cao De had no idea that a single smile from him had caused such enormous reactions.
"Tang San, you did very well. Next, Zhu Zhuqing," Zhao Wuji said slowly.
Naturally, Zhao Wuji knew what Tang San was trying to accomplish, and he was certainly willing to go with the current and do him a favor.
Flaide had told him about Tang San's background, and he had wanted to die on the spot.
If Tang Hao found out he had pulled down his son's trousers and spanked him, a single hammer blow could truly smash him to death.
Fortunately, Yu Xiaogang had spoken up for him, easing his mind somewhat.
Now, his gaze toward Tang San carried a hint of ingratiation.
Hearing her name, Zhu Zhuqing frowned slightly.
Still, she stepped forward.
"Teacher Zhao, these sausages really are a little too sleazy. Why don't we let the girls skip them?" Cao De spoke up.
Hearing Cao De speak, Zhao Wuji's expression remained unchanged, but he had already started grumbling inwardly.
This little tyrant finally spoke up. I can't afford to offend him. I can't afford to offend any of them!
Flaide had specifically called a meeting last night to explain Cao De's status as a shareholder. Cao De was their generous patron, and they had to keep him happy. Flaide had made a point of stressing that.
Zhao Wuji remained expressionless and considered it briefly. Only after deciding he had maintained his authority as a teacher did he say, "All right."
[Ning Rongrong felt delight and affection toward the host. Emotion Points: 5] [Zhu Zhuqing felt an inexplicable, unusual emotion toward the host. Emotion Points: 10]
Hearing the notifications, Cao De was delighted. It had been a long time since he had heard one.
Looking at the expressionless Zhu Zhuqing, Cao De felt very pleased.
He had the heart of a wife-stealing rogue, but he liked to cultivate affection slowly. Otherwise, Ning Rongrong might already have been in bed.
Thinking about it that way, I'm so devoted.
Zhao Wuji felt a little awkward now. He had just assigned them to eat Oscar's sausages, but who was supposed to eat them now, and who would just watch?
This batch of students is full of big shots. I can't offend them. I can't offend them.
"I just remembered I have something to do. That's all for today's lesson." As though something had suddenly occurred to him, Zhao Wuji left as soon as he finished speaking.
Zhao Wuji's departure left everyone exchanging bewildered looks.
Elsewhere, Yu Xiaogang opened his eyes as he lay in bed. Every bone in his body felt as though it had fallen apart, and he couldn't muster any strength.
Seeing Flaide sitting thoughtfully in a chair beside him, Yu Xiaogang slowly spoke. "Flaide, Flaide."
Flaide lifted his eyelids and looked at Yu Xiaogang. "What is it, Xiaogang?"
His tone sounded concerned, yet somewhat stiff.
"Flaide, what happened to me?" Yu Xiaogang asked weakly. All he wanted to know was what had happened to that little bastard Cao De.
"You're not feeling well. Rest a little longer." Flender made up an excuse off the cuff. The more he looked at Yu Xiaogang now, the more he disliked him. He truly wanted to kick him out and couldn't be bothered dealing with him.
Yu Xiaogang noticed the unnatural tone in Flaide's voice. He could tell that Flaide wanted to put the matter to rest.
But Yu Xiaogang had no intention of letting Cao De off. Cao De had beaten him, and now he had to pay. Did he really think Yu Xiaogang was a soft persimmon anyone could squeeze?
Yu Xiaogang asked bluntly, "Then what about the student who beat me?"
He laid the matter out in the open. Given their friendship, Flaide could no longer sweep it aside even if he wanted to.
Flaide reached out to support Yu Xiaogang, his Soul Power surging.
Yu Xiaogang felt his head swim. In the final second before he passed out, his only thought was: This feeling is awfully familiar.
Looking at the unconscious Yu Xiaogang, Flaide swiftly withdrew the hand supporting him. Yu Xiaogang dropped straight onto the bed, and his already cracked bones made another series of cracking sounds.
"Useless trash! I have no idea what Erlong sees in you." Flaide casually glanced at Yu Xiaogang lying on the bed, his mood thoroughly foul.
"Brother, this tree is so pretty!" Xiao Wu skipped along, looking this way and that.
Watching her hop about steadily even in the Crystal High Heels, Cao De thought of something, and a smile curled his lips.
"Brother, what are you smiling about?"
"Seeing you so happy makes me happy too."
Cao De's unexpected sweet words made Xiao Wu blush, but she remained eager in her actions, slipping her arm straight through his.
This was a case of charging into someone with a pair of balls.
Cao De mused, This girl's getting bigger and bigger. Looks like grinding an iron pestle into a needle really does work!
