Dai Mubai looked left and right, but simply could not find where the shit was.
"Where on earth is that smell coming from?" Dai Mubai wrinkled his nose. The pungent stench still hung in the air.
Unable to locate the shit, Dai Mubai gave up and bent down to help Tang San up.
An even more pungent odor than before drilled into Dai Mubai's nostrils.
Blech!
Dai Mubai could not help dry-heaving. "Tang San, did you eat shit?"
Dai Mubai was certain that the smell had come from where Tang San lay.
"Mubai! Get moving already!" Zhao Wuji could not bear to watch anymore and barked at him.
Fighting back his nausea, Dai Mubai grabbed Tang San by his trouser cuffs and dragged him toward a pool of water.
Tang San's chest and face scraped along the ground, rubbing off quite a bit of the shit on his face.
After bumping and scraping along the way, they reached the little pool. Dai Mubai gripped Tang San's ankles and lifted them high, holding him upside down.
He swished Tang San around in the pool. Some of the shit stuck to his face came off, and the stench faded considerably.
"Why does it reek so much?" Dai Mubai sniffed.
"Fuck, this isn't piss, is it?" Dai Mubai cried out.
He tossed Tang San aside, then bent down and sniffed.
"It really is piss!" Dai Mubai backed away a few steps to avoid stepping in it.
He glanced at Tang San lying on the ground.
You can't blame me. You were the one who ate shit, so I brought you here to wash it off. I didn't do it on purpose. Dai Mubai gave himself a little pep talk.
Grabbing Tang San's ankles, he flipped him over so that he lay faceup.
"Er Ming, go back. You don't need to see us off," Xiao Wu said, waving at him.
"Sister Xiao Wu, if anyone bullies you in the human world, come back," the Titan Giant Ape said.
"With my brother here, no one will bully me," Xiao Wu said, nestling closer into Cao De's arms.
The Titan Giant Ape said no more and turned to leave. He did not want another mouthful of their lovey-dovey dog food.
"Brother, let's go," Xiao Wu said with a smile.
Cao De took Xiao Wu's hand and retraced their route. By now, pink bubbles practically floated in her eyes whenever she looked at him.
They had walked for a while when they encountered two familiar faces: Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing.
At the sight of Cao De, Ning Rongrong's tears flowed uncontrollably, and she sprinted toward him with all her strength.
"Cao De, I thought I'd never see you again." Ning Rongrong's voice trembled, her tears falling in great drops like pearls from a broken string.
"It's all right now. It's all right." Cao De gently stroked Ning Rongrong's back.
Cao De was moved. Having read the original story, he knew just how proud Ning Rongrong was.
Yet now her arms were scratched, and her skirt was in tatters.
As though she had finally found an outlet, Ning Rongrong buried her face in Cao De's chest and cried even louder.
Standing beside them, Xiao Wu felt a little lost.
Where am I? Who am I? What am I doing?
Little Bunny realized something then, too.
There's something wrong with the way Ning Rongrong looks at Cao De!!
Xiao Wu's little face fell instantly, unhappiness written all over it.
She reached for Cao De's waist and gave it a twist.
Steady as an old dog, Cao De kept his expression calm and continued gently stroking Ning Rongrong's back.
Only after crying for a while did Ning Rongrong lift her little head to look at Cao De. "Are you all right?"
She even let out a sobbing hiccup as she spoke.
Ning Rongrong quickly lowered her head, her face flushed crimson with embarrassment.
"I'm fine." Cao De gently stroked her back.
His tender gesture deepened the blush on Ning Rongrong's face.
"Ahem." A light cough interrupted the intimate atmosphere.
Ning Rongrong saw her old best friend Xiao Wu staring at her. Feeling a little guilty, she quietly released her arms from around Cao De.
"Xiao Wu, are you all right?" Ning Rongrong walked over to her and asked with concern.
Xiao Wu did not answer. She did not want to acknowledge this girl.
Seeing Xiao Wu's attitude, Ning Rongrong could more or less guess why. If another woman seduced her dear brother away, she would be unhappy too.
"Xiao Wu, I was just too worried earlier," Ning Rongrong said with a bright smile, linking arms with her.
Xiao Wu was about to say something, but Ning Rongrong spoke again.
"I was wrong just now." Ning Rongrong hugged Xiao Wu's arm, her eyes looking aggrieved.
Though Xiao Wu felt frustrated, she knew that someone as outstanding as Cao De would surely attract plenty of girls.
She looked at Cao De beside them, still steady as an old dog. When I have time, I'll squeeze him dry so he can never seduce another girl again!!
Zhu Zhuqing watched the scene from the side, then turned to glance at Cao De again.
Ning Rongrong walked over to Cao De and smiled as she gazed at his profile.
Cao De suddenly spoke. "Xiao Wu isn't really my sister. She's my first lover."
His words stunned Ning Rongrong for a moment. Then she smiled and said, "Cao De, what are you joking about?"
Cao De said nothing.
The smile faded from Ning Rongrong's face. "All right. I understand."
Cao De wanted to say more, but Ning Rongrong was already walking toward Xiao Wu.
Cao De smiled helplessly.
"You killed the Man Faced Demon Spider!!" The Dragon Duke slammed his cane hard against the ground.
Zhao Wuji shuddered and cupped his fists in salute. "Senior Dragon Duke, we did indeed kill this soul beast."
"Grandpa, my soul ring is gone, just like that." Meng Yiran tugged at the Dragon Duke's arm, her eyes full of grievance.
"Yiran, Grandpa will teach them a lesson." The Dragon Duke smiled dotingly, then turned a cold gaze on Zhao Wuji.
"Zhao Wuji, how are we going to settle this?" the Dragon Duke asked coldly.
Zhao Wuji could not stop his body from trembling. Inwardly, he cursed that idiot Tang San viciously.
Clearly, the Dragon Duke would not let the matter rest, so Zhao Wuji brought Tang San up directly.
"Senior Dragon Duke, Tang Hao's son, Tang San, was the one who asked me to kill this soul beast."
At the name Tang Hao, the Dragon Duke's expression changed as well. "Call Tang San over. Let me see just what sort of person he is."
The Dragon Duke was unsure whether Zhao Wuji was telling the truth. If he was, he could befriend Tang San and establish a good relationship with Tang Hao.
Zhao Wuji froze for a moment, then nodded and walked toward a spot where flies were circling.
Zhao Wuji waved away the flies perched on Tang San's face.
Tang San had shown signs of waking earlier, but Zhao Wuji had not known how to face him, so he had simply knocked him unconscious with soul power.
Now he had no choice but to wake him. Zhao Wuji made up his mind and infused Tang San with soul power to rouse him.
The Dragon Duke stood where he was, watching Zhao Wuji's retreating back with some confusion in his eyes.
Curious about Tang Hao's son as well, Meng Yiran slowly walked toward Tang San.
A pungent odor drilled into Meng Yiran's nostrils, making her feel sick. Still, she endured it. Some droppings were inevitable in a forest.
Meng Yiran recovered a little and continued forward, only to witness a sight she would never forget for the rest of her life.
Tang San slowly woke. Perhaps because his mouth was too dry, he even smacked his lips.
He groggily looked at Zhao Wuji before him, and the memories of passing out slowly surfaced in his mind.
Something pitch-black.
The images flashing through his mind made Tang San dry-heave again.
He hooked his fingers into his mouth, and some black stuff came out.
Zhao Wuji hurriedly backed away several steps to avoid getting any on him.
The closer Meng Yiran came to Tang San, the stronger the pungent smell grew.
Did Tang San step in shit?
But remembering that the man before her was the son of the famous Clear Sky Douluo, she suppressed her discomfort.
"Are you Tang San, the Clear Sky Douluo's son?" Meng Yiran asked.
Hearing her voice, Tang San slowly straightened up. Looking at the pretty girl before him, he gave a slight smile. "Hello, I'm Tang San."
As Tang San spoke, the stench in his mouth poured into the air along with his words.
Unable to endure it, Meng Yiran hastily retreated several steps and dry-heaved.
Tang San's face instantly darkened, and he shot Zhao Wuji, who stood nearby, a piercing glare.
If his strength had not still been so lacking, Tang San would certainly have killed Zhao Wuji without hesitation.
Tang San strode away and took various supplies out of the Twenty-Four Bridge Bright Moon Night to rinse his mouth.
After she finished dry-heaving, Meng Yiran jogged back to the Dragon Duke, a horrified expression on her face. "Grandpa, Tang San is so disgusting."
"What happened?" the Dragon Duke asked, puzzled.
With disbelief written across her face, Meng Yiran slowly said, "Tang San ate shit."
The Dragon Duke was quite startled, and he began to doubt whether this Tang San really was the Clear Sky Douluo's son.
