Once Ning Rongrong confirmed her feelings, she immediately unlocked a whole host of new traits.

Nestled in Cao De's arms, Ning Rongrong stroked his chin and Adam's apple.

"Cao De, your Adam's apple moved," Ning Rongrong said in amazement, as though she had discovered a new continent.

She really is a Little Demoness, Cao De thought, though his steps quickened.

As though she had found a new toy, Ning Rongrong blew a breath against his Adam's apple.

A shudder ran through Cao De's entire body.

Ning Rongrong watched his reaction and giggled.

"We're already at the hotel," Cao De said with a smile.

"So what?" Ning Rongrong smiled impishly.

Cao De smiled without answering and carried her to a room on the hotel's second floor.

Ning Rongrong squirmed in his arms before taking out her key and unlocking the door.

Once inside, Cao De swung the door shut with one hand.

He walked to the bed, gently set Ning Rongrong down, and planted a light kiss on her forehead.

He took some medicine out of System Space. "This is for external injuries. You got a few scratches earlier, so remember to apply it."

Ning Rongrong smiled mischievously. "There are some places I can't reach. I'll need your help, Cao De."

"Want me to apply it now?" Cao De asked with a smile.

"No. Wait here for me, Cao De. I'm going to take a shower first." Ning Rongrong touched his Adam's apple, then hurried toward the bathroom.

Cao De was a little bewildered. He felt like prey. And Ning Rongrong hadn't had this particular trait in the original story!!!

A little head peeked around the bathroom doorway. "Don't leave, Cao De. I'll be done in a moment."

Ning Rongrong even gave him a wink as she spoke, brimming with allure.

Still baffled, Cao De simply stopped thinking about it. This was a pretty good addition to her traits.

The sound of running water drifted out, accompanied by Ning Rongrong's humming.

Cao De drew the curtains and tidied the bed.

The bathroom door opened, and Ning Rongrong's little head emerged first. She winked at Cao De, who was sitting beside the bed.

Then she slowly stepped out. Wrapped in nothing but a white bath towel, Ning Rongrong exposed her long, fair legs to the air. Droplets still clung to them, making them resemble creamy white jade.

But the scrapes on those legs left a few flaws in that jade.

Seeing those scrapes, Cao De had no attention to spare for admiring her. "Come here."

Ning Rongrong's little feet pattered across the floor. She sat beside Cao De and winked at him again.

Cao De drew her legs toward him, spread ointment on his hands, and carefully applied it.

Ning Rongrong's heart gave a sudden tremble.

"Did you scrape your arms?" Cao De asked.

Ning Rongrong shook her head, then suddenly tackled Cao De onto the bed.

"Cao De, I really do like you more and more."

Dry tinder met a raging flame.

Ning Rongrong lay limp on the bed, the strands of hair at her forehead stuck together with sweat.

Cao De tenderly smoothed her hair into place.

After catching her breath, Ning Rongrong winked at him. "I've got something good here. Want to see?"

"Sure." Cao De gave her an indulgent smile.

Ning Rongrong picked up the Jade Bracelet from the bedside table, infused it with Soul Power, and took out an exquisite Hairpin.

Following the usual novel tropes, this should have been some jewelry left to her by her mother. Cao De smiled and asked, "Don't tell me your mother left this to you?"

Ning Rongrong shook her head. "Watch closely, and you'll see."

Ning Rongrong took another Hairpin out of the Jade Bracelet. Joined together, the two turned out to be a Storage Soul Tool.

As Ning Rongrong infused it with Soul Power, a whole pile of objects tumbled out.

Little rods, little crystal rods, soft little rods, a jade radish, clips, a white blanket, illustrated books...

Cao De was dumbfounded. Truly dumbfounded. He felt as though his entire worldview had been turned upside down.

Seeing his bewildered expression, Ning Rongrong burst into cooing laughter.

"These..." Cao De pointed at the pile of objects.

"I used to play with them, maybe two or three years ago. I forget exactly when." Ning Rongrong rubbed her chin.

"Want to try them?" Ning Rongrong winked at Cao De.

As a man who spoiled his woman rotten, Cao De naturally agreed to this little request.

Ning Rongrong lay limp on the bed again.

"I drank today, so I don't have any strength left," Ning Rongrong added stubbornly.

"I know." Cao De didn't call her bluff.

He finally understood. Ning Rongrong was the classic case of someone who had started exploring herself early: terrible at it, yet always eager to play.

Cao De washed the scattered equipment and gathered it together.

Then he scooped Ning Rongrong's limp body up from the bed.

"I drank today. I really can't do any more," Ning Rongrong pleaded.

She felt as though her entire body had fallen apart, unable to muster the slightest strength. The illustrated books claimed that only men got tired. Ning Rongrong firmly disagreed with that statement!!

"What are you thinking? I'm taking you to wash up." Cao De lightly brushed a finger down the bridge of her nose.

He couldn't help grumbling inwardly. Ning Rongrong really is a little dirty-minded girl.

The sun rose in the east. Cao De got up early, washed, and went onto the roof to practice the Great Sun Heart Method while basking in the sunlight.

This was a conclusion Cao De had reached over the years: bathing in the morning light doubled the speed at which he could circulate the Great Sun Heart Method and improved its effects.

Cao De exhaled a breath of stale air. Seeing that it was about time, he prepared to call the three girls to breakfast, only to spot Zhu Zhuqing sitting at a table in the dining room.

"Good morning," Cao De greeted her with a smile.

The look in Zhu Zhuqing's eyes shifted several times as she watched him. She picked up the cup of water on the table and took a sip, but didn't acknowledge him.

Cao De could guess why. Zhu Zhuqing had probably seen him carrying Ning Rongrong back to the hotel last night. Now she was likely calling him a scumbag in her head.

Cao De could only smile helplessly before going upstairs to call his two girlfriends.

Cao De knocked on Xiao Wu's door.

Pat, pat, pat.

The door opened a crack, revealing a little head.

"Brother, go eat first. I haven't washed up yet." Xiao Wu shut the door as soon as she finished, giving Cao De no chance to speak.

Xiao Wu ran back to the bed on bare legs. Had Cao De been there, he would surely have been astonished, because her legs really were completely bare.

Xiao Wu looked at the clothes on the bed and the wet patches on them, then rubbed her face speechlessly.

"Cao De and Ning Rongrong are so annoying!" Xiao Wu flopped onto the bed, spread-eagled.

Naturally, Cao De knew nothing about any of this.

By now, he had knocked on Ning Rongrong's door.

"Who is it?" Ning Rongrong's languid voice rang out.

"Me."

Pat, pat.

Cao De heard footsteps exactly like the sound Xiao Wu's feet had just made against the floor.

This door also opened a crack, revealing Ning Rongrong's little face. "Cao De, now isn't a very good time, is it? Xiao Wu is still next door."

Ning Rongrong pitched her voice sweetly and fluttered her eyelashes.

Cao De immediately flicked her forehead.

The sound was crisp and clear. Master Cao's verdict: a fine head.

"Hurry up and wash, then come eat."

"Now that you've had me, you don't cherish me anymore." Ning Rongrong covered her forehead and put on a mournful expression.

Unable to suppress his laughter at her antics, Cao De gave her forehead another flick.

"Quit being so dramatic. Go wash up." With that, Cao De headed downstairs.

If he lingered any longer, Xiao Wu might finish washing up.

Cao "Playing It Safe" De.
