Bibi Dong did not know why, but the person before her felt strangely familiar, as though she had seen him somewhere before. Subconsciously, she wanted to draw closer. The feeling lasted only an instant before she swiftly shook it off.

For some inexplicable reason, she naturally picked up the conversation. "Well done."

Seeing this, the elders knew they would not be getting the Soul Bone, so they all quickly left.

"Let's go." Bibi Dong lightly tapped her scepter, and Cao De rose off the ground with her, flying toward Spirit Hall.

Ghost Douluo and Chrysanthemum Douluo flanked Cao De, both sizing up this stranger they had never seen before.

Cao De paid no attention to their scrutiny. He quietly admired Bibi Dong's figure from behind.

Ethereal, beautiful, mature, commanding!

Those words surfaced in Cao De's mind, but he still felt they did not quite capture her.

While Cao De was still agonizing over which words to use, they had already landed inside the Pope's Palace.

Bibi Dong slowly walked forward and sat in the seat of honor, crossing one leg over the other as she looked down at Cao De.

"Speak." Her voice was cold and authoritative.

Cao De glanced toward the two others, signaling their presence.

For some reason, Bibi Dong instantly understood his meaning. "You two may leave."

Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo exchanged glances before leaving one after the other. They both felt something was odd, but neither could put his finger on it.

Only Bibi Dong and Cao De remained in the vast Pope's Palace.

Bibi Dong watched Cao De, and Cao De stared into her eyes. They simply held each other's gaze.

Smiling, Cao De broke the silence first. "Your Holiness."

"Tell me your purpose," Bibi Dong said calmly, her tone betraying neither pleasure nor anger.

"I simply wanted to see what Spirit Hall looked like."

The instant Cao De finished speaking, an immense pressure enveloped him.

Cao De stood perfectly straight, as though the pressure did not exist.

Surprise flashed through Bibi Dong's eyes, and she released an even stronger pressure.

Cao De remained unmoved. He even spoke up. "Your Holiness, I really only wanted to have a look at the Pope's Palace."

The astonishment in Bibi Dong's eyes deepened. This boy was about Nana's age, yet the pressure he was enduring had already reached the Soul King level.

Bibi Dong continued increasing the pressure. As it grew stronger and stronger, the shock in her heart only mounted.

Let's see just what sort of extraordinary figure you are, Bibi Dong murmured inwardly, raising the pressure to the Soul Douluo level.

Cao De began to feel the strain, but his back remained ramrod straight. I have to stand tall in front of my first wife. Otherwise, how am I supposed to assert my authority as her husband later?

An inexplicable thought arose in Bibi Dong's mind: would increasing the pressure further injure Cao De?

The moment that thought appeared, she cast it aside. Who does he think he is? If he gets hurt, he gets hurt!

Bibi Dong continued increasing the pressure. It had now reached the Titled Douluo level.

At this point, Cao De felt his body reach its limit, and he stopped suppressing the release of his Martial Soul.

Purple, purple, black, black. Four Soul Rings instantly surrounded Cao De, and his Martial Soul, the Thousand-Blade Demon Sword, appeared in his hand.

Bibi Dong's eyes widened. Her hand tightened around her scepter until it grew slightly pale, betraying how unsettled she was.

Bibi Dong withdrew the pressure and swiftly composed herself. "What is your Martial Soul? It looks rather interesting."

Cao De answered with a smile. "Your Holiness, my Martial Soul is called the Thousand-Blade Demon Sword."

Bibi Dong nodded, beginning to consider recruiting him. With Cao De's talent, given time, he would certainly become a Titled Douluo. He might even become a Peak Douluo.

Besides, if he becomes my disciple, I'll get to see him every day!

*?!* The thought sprang up out of nowhere! Bibi Dong felt she must have lost her mind to entertain such an idea!

Yet the prospect of taking Cao De as her disciple made her happy?

Bibi Dong suppressed the inexplicable thoughts in her heart.

"What do you think of Spirit Hall?" she asked.

"It's excellent."

"Then how about joining Spirit Hall, or becoming my disciple?" A faint smile now graced Bibi Dong's face.

Cao De considered it briefly. Becoming her disciple sounded incredibly cool, so he readily agreed. "All right."

"Good. You are now my second disciple." Bibi Dong lightly struck the floor with her scepter.

Then she remembered she still did not know his name. "What is your name?"

"Teacher, my name is Cao De," he said with a smile.

"Then you shall live in Spirit Hall from now on. In the days ahead, I will guide your Martial Soul cultivation." Looking at Cao De's smile, Bibi Dong felt inexplicably happy.

Cao De shook his head. "Teacher, I still need to go to the Star Luo Empire to find a few things. I can't stay in Spirit Hall yet."

Bibi Dong's eyes narrowed slightly before she said, "Very well. Then leave the Soul Bone behind. Carrying it will invite unnecessary trouble. I'll keep it safe for you for now."

Bibi Dong did not have much trust in her newly accepted disciple, Cao De. Had he sincerely acknowledged her as his teacher, or was it merely an excuse to save his life?

Even Bibi Dong could not tell. But as long as Cao De handed over the Soul Bone, she would lose nothing even if he changed his mind and never returned to Spirit Hall.

If he refused to hand it over, she would kill him and take it. Cao De's talent had astonished even her, but if she could not control him, killing him was the best choice.

Those were Bibi Dong's rational thoughts! Her deepest desire was to have Cao De stay by her side. But the instant that thought arose, she snuffed it out!

Cao De naturally understood Bibi Dong's meaning. Without wasting time, he took the box containing the Soul Bone out of the system space.

Bibi Dong beckoned, and the Soul Bone landed securely in her hand.

Cao De did not linger any longer and left the Pope's Palace. After he departed,

Chrysanthemum Douluo appeared inside the Pope's Palace.

"Chrysanthemum Douluo, investigate Cao De's background." Bibi Dong toyed with the Soul Bone in her hand, her voice icy.

"As you command, Your Holiness." Chrysanthemum Douluo had no idea why Bibi Dong was angry. He quickly accepted the order and left.

After leaving Spirit Hall, Cao De spotted Huo Wu in the distance.

"Master, Master!" Huo Wu bounced on her feet and waved cheerfully. "Master, I've already found a hotel!"

Her words drew repeated sidelong glances from the people around them.

"I'll take you around Spirit City. Let's see what there is to do."

"Sure!"

They bought quite a few things along the way. When they passed a clothing shop, Cao De stopped.

"Master, are you buying clothes?" Huo Wu asked, blinking.

"Not for me. For you."

Cao De planned to dress Huo Wu up properly. With her following him from now on, seeing her in a different outfit every day would be quite a feast for the eyes.

A few outfits caught Cao De's eye immediately. "Go try these on."

Huo Wu skipped off to try on the clothes.

"Master, do I look good?" Her voice came from behind him.

Cao De turned to see her wearing a fitted, fiery-red short dress, paired with a high red ponytail and the red mark on her forehead.

She was alluring, with an air of bold confidence.

Huo Wu twirled in place. "What do you think, Master?"

"Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful." Cao De was generous with his praise.

"If Master likes looking at it, I'll wear this outfit." Huo Wu smiled.

"Huo Wu! I finally found you!" Feng Xiaotian panted as he looked at the smiling Huo Wu.

His eyes brimmed with astonishment and affection.

"Who are you?" Huo Wu's brows knitted, her voice cold. The instant she saw Feng Xiaotian, a powerful disgust welled up inside her.

Feng Xiaotian was momentarily stunned. "Huo Wu, it's me, Feng Xiaotian!"

"I don't know you. Now hurry up and get lost. Don't interrupt me and Master while we're buying clothes," Huo Wu said coldly, planting her hands on her hips.

"Master?! What master? Huo Wu, what's wrong with you?" Seeing the frost in Huo Wu's eyes, Feng Xiaotian was utterly confused. He stepped forward, trying to take her hand.

Cao De immediately blocked him.

When Feng Xiaotian saw Cao De, his gaze instantly turned icy. "Get out of my way."

Before Cao De could act, Huo Wu kicked Feng Xiaotian straight in the abdomen.

"Who gave you permission to speak to Master like that?!" Huo Wu's voice was ice-cold.

Clutching his abdomen, Feng Xiaotian staggered several steps backward before regaining his balance. His body barely hurt, but his heart suffered an agonizing stab.

"Huo Wu, what's wrong? It's me, Xiaotian." Feng Xiaotian wanted to say more, but when he met Huo Wu's icy gaze, he shut his mouth.

He turned toward Cao De beside her, his voice freezing. "Did you do this? You drove a wedge between Huo Wu and me, you despicable bastard!"

Cao De actually laughed at Feng Xiaotian's outrageous accusation. "Feng Xiaotian, you really are a Boiling Sheep!"

Although Feng Xiaotian did not understand, his instincts told him it was no compliment. He was just about to retort.

"First Soul Skill: Flame Burst Impact!"

As Huo Wu's words fell, a red flame pattern appeared before her, and a powerful wave of fire shot straight toward Feng Xiaotian.

Feng Xiaotian instinctively dodged, and the shock wave grazed the top of his head.

"Huo Wu, how could you attack me? It's me, Xiaotian!" Feng Xiaotian's face was filled with disbelief.

A sizzling crackle rang out. The acrid smell of scorched feathers filled Feng Xiaotian's nostrils, followed by waves of burning pain on top of his head.

"Fuck! My hair's on fire!" Feng Xiaotian screamed and rushed outside to find water to put it out.
