In a room at the Hotel, the gray-haired Salas wore a lecherous smile as he admired the young girl on the bed.
"Y-you... let me go!" Shui Yue'er's eyes were filled with terror. She struggled constantly, trying to break free of the ropes binding her arms and legs.
Watching Shui Yue'er's body move as she struggled, Salas swallowed.
What a prize!
She might even be a virgin.
I can hardly wait!
"Little girl, don't be afraid. I just want to examine you and see whether you're sick." Salas chuckled, the lecherous look on his face growing stronger.
Whoosh!
Salas had just started to stroll toward Shui Yue'er when, somehow, his body pitched straight forward.
An agonizing pain tore through his ankles. Salas turned his head and saw that both his feet were still planted firmly on the floor.
Only now, those feet were no longer connected to his lower legs. They stood there alone, blood bubbling out.
"Aaargh!" Salas howled helplessly.
Yet he could see no one else in the room. The terror in his heart and the pain in his body made him pass out.
Shadow abruptly appeared behind Cao De, kneeling on one knee, his voice devoid of emotion.
"Master, I found her. She's in a hidden room on the fourth floor."
Huo Wu and Shui Bing'er were both startled by Shadow's sudden appearance. But when they heard what he said, delight flashed in their eyes.
"Lead the way!" Cao De said.
Shadow brought the three of them to a wall on the fourth floor. "She's just behind here, but I don't know where the hidden door is."
"Is anyone directly behind it?" Cao De asked.
Shadow shook his head.
The Thousand-Blade Demon Sword appeared in Cao De's hand, and he immediately activated his Fourth Soul Skill.
The Demon Blade scattered into a thousand purple fragments, which attacked the wall in an orderly formation. In an instant, they cut a hole large enough for a person to pass through.
Cao De rushed inside first and immediately spotted Shui Yue'er on the bed.
"Big Brother Cao De," Shui Yue'er called softly, tears streaming down like pearls from a broken string.
Cao De hurried forward and untied the ropes binding her.
He gathered the still-weeping Shui Yue'er into his arms as a father would hold his child, his broad hand gently stroking her back.
"It's all right now. It's all right," Cao De soothed her softly.
Shui Yue'er buried her face against Cao De's neck and sobbed quietly.
Watching from beside them, Shui Bing'er saw that her younger sister was safe and sound, and the great stone weighing on her heart finally fell away.
Xiao Wu, standing nearby, tugged at Shui Bing'er's sleeve and said in a tiny voice, "I'm sorry. I didn't look after Yue'er properly."
"It's all right. It wasn't your fault," Shui Bing'er said.
Shui Yue'er cried for quite a while before finally lifting her head and meeting Cao De's gaze with reddened eyes.
"Master, I want to get down."
Cao De stroked Shui Yue'er's back and gently brushed a finger along the bridge of her nose. "Your master will avenge you," he said tenderly.
Then he set Shui Yue'er on the floor.
"Bing'er, you and Huo Wu take Yue'er outside for a little walk," Cao De told the two girls.
"Yes, Master." The two took Shui Yue'er by the hands and stepped out through the large hole in the wall.
After the three girls left, Cao De turned toward Salas, who lay unconscious on the floor. The tenderness in his eyes vanished instantly, replaced by endless icy cold.
Cao De waved his hand. The Thousand-Blade Demon Sword lying on the floor immediately flew up and landed firmly in his grasp.
Cao De raised his hand and stabbed downward, driving the Demon Blade through the back of Salas's hand.
"Aaargh!"
Salas let out a howl, curling up like a shrimp.
"Who are you? How dare you attack me! I'm Salas, a Platinum Bishop of Spirit Hall!"
Sweat covered Salas's forehead as he stared at the man before him and roared.
Cao De's gaze did not change in the slightest. He merely drew the Thousand-Blade Demon Sword out slowly.
To Salas, this meant Cao De had been cowed by his status.
Salas's eyes blazed with fury. "At least you know what's good for you. Now... aargh..."
Before Salas could finish, Cao De plunged the Thousand-Blade Demon Sword into his other hand.
"I'm from Spirit Hall!" Salas roared again, veins bulging on his forehead from the pain.
Ignoring the man's bluster, Cao De lifted the Thousand-Blade Demon Sword and stabbed down again.
"Aaargh!"
Salas let out a howl of agony.
Cao De stepped on Salas's blood-drenched hand, took a handkerchief from his system space, and carefully wiped the blood from his own hands.
"You have my permission to call for backup now," he said slowly.
His eyes filled with venomous hatred, Salas pulled his hand out from beneath Cao De's foot and slowly crawled toward the window.
"You're a little slow!"
With that, Cao De sent Salas flying toward the window with a single kick.
Crash!
Salas smashed through the window headfirst, blood running from his forehead.
Yet a strange smile spread across his face. He took a metal cylinder from his Storage Soul Tool and pressed it hard, sending a beam of light straight into the sky.
"Heh heh, prepare to face Spirit Hall's wrath!" Salas laughed madly.
Cao De paid no attention to his shouting. He simply waited quietly for Spirit Hall's people to arrive.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh! Only a few minutes passed.
More than a dozen figures rushed in through the window, none of them noticing Salas lying beneath it.
One after another, they stepped on Salas's body as they entered the room, looking around for their bishop.
"Huh? Where is he? The signal came from here. Why isn't he here?"
The dozen or so men exchanged bewildered looks.
"Idiots, I'm here!" Salas forced the words out in a hoarse voice.
"Holy shit! Bishop, why are you lying on the floor?"
Several men hurried over to help him up.
"Fuck, stop trying to lift me! Stop the bleeding!" Salas bellowed.
Whoosh!
This time, a white-haired old man flew in through the window, landing steadily on the floor and surveying the room.
The dozen or so Spirit Hall Soul Masters immediately bowed. "Greetings, Hall Master!"
"What happened?" the white-haired old man asked coldly.
"Wu Chen, this man tried to kill me, and you're still asking what happened?" Salas roared from the floor.
"Well, if it isn't the Platinum Bishop. Why are you lying on the floor?" Seeing Salas sprawled like a dead dog, Wu Chen spoke mockingly.
"Wu Chen, are you sure you want to do this? Have you thought about how you'll explain yourself to Lord Sato?"
Salas's tone brimmed with anger.
At the name Sato, Wu Chen frowned.
"Heal him, and arrest this man as well," Wu Chen ordered.
A smile appeared on Salas's lips.
The dozen or so Soul Masters immediately prepared to act.
Watching from the side, Cao De had thought Wu Chen might deal with Salas himself. Now, that hope appeared to be gone.
Cao De took a Token from his system space and tossed it toward Wu Chen.
Wu Chen caught it and glanced over its surface. His eyes instantly widened, and he examined it carefully once more.
He immediately dropped to one knee.
"Greetings, Holy Son," he said respectfully.
The dozen or so Soul Masters preparing to act all froze.
What was going on?! But since their Hall Master had done it, they all knelt and paid their respects as well.
"What are you doing, Wu Chen?" Salas roared as he watched.
A terrible foreboding rose in his heart!
Wu Chen ignored Salas's barking. He simply knelt there quietly and respectfully, waiting for Cao De's orders.
"You're Hall Master Wu Chen, correct?" Cao De said slowly.
"Yes!"
"You know about the things Salas has done before, don't you?" Cao De asked again.
"I do," Wu Chen replied respectfully. "But I have no authority to punish him. His uncle is Sato, an elder of Spirit Hall."
"I see. He has backing! Well, now you have backing too. Follow the trail from Salas and investigate everything thoroughly." Cao De smiled and patted Wu Chen's shoulder.
A smile immediately spread across Wu Chen's face. "Thank you, Holy Son!"
"As for Salas, deal with him as you see fit."
Cao De beckoned, and the Token in Wu Chen's hand returned to his own.
He strolled outside.
Some of the cancers within Spirit Hall were better cut out!
