"Clang!"
A piercing clash rang through the skies, sparks flying.
"Bang!" Yi Chen was sent flying several dozen feet. He looked down at his left arm, which was charred black, the sinews writhing beneath his skin faintly visible.
That blow had nearly severed his left arm. Fortunately, he had blocked it with Ultimate Fire at the critical moment, dispersing some of its force. Otherwise, he probably would have lost the arm.
"Huh?" Yi Chen stared at his left arm in bewilderment. "What is this?"
He noticed a strange crystal inside his left arm. It glittered, radiating an unusual power that was gentle, tenacious, and sacred, enveloping his entire arm.
This mysterious power was immensely strong. Yi Chen could even feel his own strength being suppressed somewhat, and he sensed that something seemed to be sealed inside the mysterious crystal.
After landing his strike, the old man lunged at him again. His dagger flashed with cold light, strands of icy-blue radiance coiling around it.
Yi Chen gritted his teeth and met him head-on.
The two darted back and forth, clashing hundreds of times in a single breath. With every collision, blood sprayed across the sky, and Yi Chen's injuries steadily worsened.
"Die!" the old man roared. He seized Yi Chen's shoulder and savagely tore away at it, exposing the bloody flesh beneath. Blood mist churned, and splintered bone was clearly visible.
"Aah!" Yi Chen screamed in agony.
Yi Chen fought with all his strength to break free of the old man's grip. His muscles twisted, his blood vessels bulged, and blue veins stood out as he struggled with everything he had.
Drenched in blood, he still stubbornly broke free of the old man, then punched him in the chest.
