The Black Stone Bead exuded an ancient, weighty aura, weathered by countless ages.
Yi Chen distinctly sensed an utterly terrifying being sealed within it. That aura belonged to a god. Though some unknown seal suppressed it, Yi Chen could clearly feel the dreadful power hidden inside the bead.
Yi Chen stared at the bead, gritting his teeth. "So that's it. You used it to seal me and keep me from wielding my energy? You think you've won? You're wrong, outrageously wrong! Who do you think I am? Do you think I'm so easily ensnared by your schemes?"
Yi Chen sighed. "It really was a trap aimed at me. I thought this was just a simple trial. I never imagined I'd almost die at your hands. Hmph... just you wait. One day, I'll settle this score."
Yi Chen sat cross-legged where he stood and quietly began to recover.
The meridians inside his body were completely blocked, and even his Soul Ring had developed problems. He needed time to recuperate.
"Such dense energy..." The Soul Ring inside Yi Chen's mind trembled, devouring the energy produced by the earlier explosion. Streams of blue energy poured into his body. He felt threads of pure energy flowing along his meridians, repairing his wounded body.
Yi Chen silently circulated his power. He was certain that this energy had been condensed from essence drawn out of that old man's body. Otherwise, how could there have been such an immense quantity of pure energy inside him?
As for this young man... his master had left him this energy to defend himself against enemies. But he was too weak and had no idea how to use such vast energy in combat. As a result, he had squandered it, drastically weakening himself and even having his cultivation crippled by someone.
