An uncanny dark-red radiance enveloped the longsword. A vast, savage killing intent poured from it, forcing Yi Chen to retreat dozens of steps despite himself.
Yi Chen exclaimed in wonder, "This sword is no ordinary weapon. Hmm, a trace of a soul imprint seems to remain in it. No wonder it's so powerful. My heavens, how could they have something of this caliber?"
Yi Chen's spirits stirred as he suddenly understood something-these people were weapons of war cultivated by the Fallen Ones. They could wield all manner of forbidden spells and possessed strength far beyond that of ordinary people, but had lost their self-awareness as a result.
Yi Chen stepped up to the iron doorway and carefully studied these Corpse Demons, who had no thoughts left and knew only how to slaughter on instinct.
These Corpse Demons were immensely powerful, and their ability to recover was astonishing. After they were slain, although their flesh was pulverized, their shells actually remained almost intact.
What horrified Yi Chen most was that their shells stored enormous amounts of resentment and negative emotion. This power was not their own, but an evil force from another world. The beings of that world were using their shells to incubate something dangerous.
"Hmm, this shouldn't be happening..." Yi Chen murmured to himself. "Unless they're using the power of these Corpse Demons to do something."
Yi Chen shook his head and once again walked into those coffins with sealed caskets inside.
He discovered shriveled, emaciated zombies lying in the coffins. Their faces were twisted, their eyes wide open. Clearly, the agony of their deaths had utterly destroyed their reason, and their consciousness had been devoured by resentment and fury.
Only their bodies still retained a trace of primal instinct. An inexplicable fluctuation spread through the desiccated corpses. Their
