"How could they attack civilians?" Zoe was furious when she saw the innocent old man riddled with bullets.
Chen Si remained expressionless. All that talk about keeping civilians out of war was nothing but a sanctimonious lie. Later, they would either declare that the old man had died a glorious death or claim that the two of them had gotten him killed. Chen Si did not care in the slightest. His hands were already drenched in blood; he was nothing like the man who had first arrived in this world.
Still, this gave Chen Si some insight into Zoe's character. It surprised him that, as a Marleyan agent, even if she did not regard human life as worthless, she should at least have killed countless people. Why would the death of an enemy civilian affect her emotionally?

Then how strong were Marley's elite, code-named agents mentioned in the intelligence he had received earlier? Surely they could not be on par with an Ackerman?
The footsteps drew steadily closer. The instant Chen Si heard them, he pulled Zoe down onto the floor.
The two hid beneath the desk, out of sight, listening to the slow footsteps outside.
Chen Si scanned with his Divine Sense. Five soldiers carrying submachine guns had entered, while four tanks, six armored vehicles, and sixty
