After Zoe led Chen Si and Yasuo into the bustling downtown area, they shook off the Mid-East soldiers. Though it was night, the streets were still brightly lit.
The three found a restaurant to rest in and booked a private room.
Yasuo wolfed down the food on the table like a street urchin.
"Yasuo! Mind your manners."
Seeing food all over the table and around Yasuo's mouth, Chen Si immediately reminded him.
"It's fine. Let him eat as much as he likes. My younger sister is much like him-she loves eating too." Zoe looked at Yasuo with an almost maternal expression.
Watching the poised, gentle Zoe, Chen Si felt a pang of reluctance. But deceiving her feelings was already the gentlest approach he could take, wasn't it? If they had fought openly, she would probably have died at his hands before he ever had the chance to get to know her.
"Mr. Charns, this is my address in Marley. Just come find me once you arrive." Zoe wrote an address on a piece of paper and handed it to Chen Si.
Chen Si took it, glanced at the address, and committed it to memory. Then he tucked the paper into his pocket and fell into thought.
"Don't worry. Once I get home, I'll definitely ask my father to help find those medicinal herbs for you."
Seeing his thoughtful expression, Zoe assumed Chen Si was still grieving the loss of his ancestral medicinal herbs.
"Zoe, to be honest, those herbs really are extinct. There should be no chance of finding them anywhere in the world."
"I'm truly sorry, Mr. Charns. I'll definitely repay your kindness," Zoe said, deeply remorseful.
"Don't let it weigh on you. I've relied too heavily on those ancestral herbs all this time, and that has kept my
