Mogwin stood at the front door, looking somber and weighed down. Two thousand test subjects had already entered the basement of the Special Operations Department. All that remained was for him to arrive, and the horrific blood exchanges on living subjects would begin.
The front door opened.
"Daddy!" Philia opened the door, saw Mogwin, and immediately called out.
"Hey!" Seeing his lively daughter before him swept the gloom from Mogwin's heart.
Mogwin took off his hat, lifted Philia into his arms, and entered with a radiant smile, spotting Yasuo inside.
"Daddy, his name is Yasuo. He's my good friend!" Philia introduced him.
"Hello, sir!" Yasuo hurriedly stood up, his posture perfectly straight, looking somewhat nervous.
Mogwin nodded kindly at the sight. "Relax, Yasuo. I didn't prepare anything for our first meeting, so here, this is for you."
Yasuo accepted the little fan Mogwin handed him. He turned it over, examining it, then spotted a button and pressed it.
The fan immediately lit up and began blowing air. Yasuo's mouth fell open in excitement, and he seemed thoroughly pleased.
"Thank you, sir!" Yasuo hurriedly thanked him.
"Other than me, you're the only person in the whole world who has this fan! Only my dad knows how to make it!" Philia said proudly.
"Hahaha, as long as you like it." Mogwin laughed and set Philia down.
"Philia, where's your sister?" Mogwin asked.
"She's inside cooking! Charns and Pieck came to visit too," Philia explained.
Understanding, Mogwin headed farther inside.
When Chen Si saw the elderly man who pushed the door open, looking somewhat weathered yet refined, he quickly rose and said modestly, "Hello, you must be Professor Mogwin. Sorry for intruding."
Pieck also stood and nodded. Mogwin smiled back. Since they knew each other fairly well, they dispensed with further pleasantries.
