Chen Si put down the encyclopedia in deep disappointment. He had firmly committed everything in it to memory, including the various weaknesses of the eight Titans other than the Founding Titan.
But it contained no weaknesses for the Founding Titan. Each inheritor possessed different abilities, making weaknesses difficult to uncover. Tom Kusava believed the Founding Titan could not be defeated, that it was absolutely invincible. Unless it willingly gave up its own life, it could never be killed. The Founding Titan itself was its only weakness.
Yet none of the successive Founding Titans had escaped the fate of dying after thirteen years-not even the fifth Founding Titan, Michael Fritz, who could heal all things and cure every disease. He had spent his entire life trying every possible means of breaking the curse of certain death after thirteen years, but had failed.
Chen Si shook his head. Those Founding Titans who had come before the 145th King had wanted to live more than anyone, yet still could not find a way.
By this point, Chen Si had almost given up hope. If so many Founding Titans could only wait for their lifespans to end, it seemed that even Ymir the Founder had no solution-or perhaps she was unwilling to help.
Chen Si was ready to leave, but before he did, he casually leafed through a few more things on Mogwin's desk.
"Hmm?" While looking through them, Chen Si came across something resembling a diary. It looked like Mogwin's personal notes, so he opened it. What he read rekindled a little hope.
``` [Titans may well be biological organisms that science can explain. It may simply be that humans cannot understand organisms beyond the bounds of their knowledge. If I must give Titans a definition, I believe it would be: extraterrestrials.]
