A flash of lightning swept past, slicing open the napes of a hundred Colossal Titans. They fell together, tripping whole ranks of Colossal Titans behind them and sending them tumbling into a heap.
Chen Si descended from the sky, the Thunderbolt Longsword in hand, and landed steadily.
Several figures also leaped down from the Cart Titan's back.
"Chen Si! Mikasa! And Mike!" Armin shouted, his mouth falling open in excitement.
"Armin." The corners of Mikasa's lips lifted slightly.
Mike gave a cool nod.
"Mike! Waaaah!" Hange threw herself at Mike and hugged him tightly, sobbing with tears and snot streaming down her face.
"Hey! Hange!" Mike leaned back in distaste.
Levi's lips curled slightly as he met Mike's eyes and nodded.
Mike returned Levi's gaze and gave a solemn nod of his own. No words were needed between them.
Then Pieck opened the Cart Titan's mouth, and three more people climbed out.
"Historia, why are you here too? It's so dangerous here!" Sasha exclaimed, delighted and surprised.
"I was in the Training Corps too, you know. I can fight alongside you," Historia said firmly.
Levi and Hange both frowned and turned to Chen Si.
"The island is in chaos right now. She'd be in danger if she stayed. Besides, she's pregnant. I feel safer keeping her by my side, so I brought her along," Chen Si explained.
Levi raised an eyebrow at that, while Hange looked worried.
"Staff Officer Hange, I won't hold everyone back. I contacted Miss Kiyomi. She's already prepared a Small Reconnaissance Plane on an island four hundred kilometers from here. We can go there. There's plenty of fuel ready, and it's outside the range of the Rumbling," Historia said.
"Annie? Why did you come? Weren't you..." Reiner asked in surprise when he saw Annie beside Historia.
