Facing Shimura Danzō

"It won't hurt. It'll be over in an instant."

Arrogant as he sounded, Shimura Danzō truly had the strength to back it up.

Though he was no Kage, he was as formidable as one. His strength had undoubtedly reached Kage level.

As Shimura Danzō finished his hand seals, a B-rank ninjutsu, Wind Release: Vacuum Wave, burst forth. Chinatsu immediately leaped to the right to dodge it, but a barrage of Vacuum Waves followed, firing like a machine gun.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The Vacuum Waves Chinatsu dodged struck the ground, kicking up cloud after cloud of dust. Taking even one head-on would certainly hurt.

"You're quick on your feet, girl."

Shimura Danzō swept his arm, turning the Vacuum Waves into Vacuum Blades. Slash after slash flew toward Chinatsu like the strikes of a swordsman. Her Three-Tomoe Sharingan spun rapidly as she continued to evade all his attacks by a hair's breadth.

Even Shimura Danzō looked surprised at the sight, thinking that this girl was far too good at dodging.

Meanwhile, Chinatsu was inwardly sweating buckets. Luck. It's all luck. Even with her Three-Tomoe Sharingan, dodging so many wind blades had certainly involved an element of luck.

Chinatsu looked at Shimura Danzō with feigned composure, as though saying, "Go on, keep trying. You can't hit me~ You just can't hit me~" Whatever happened, she couldn't lose the battle of confidence. Meanwhile, her mind raced to find a way to deal with him.

Honestly, Chinatsu couldn't think of a way to defeat Shimura Danzō just yet. His death in the original story had felt somewhat dictated by the plot, but that kind of plot-driven victory was a privilege reserved for the protagonist. Then what about me...

Chinatsu took a deep breath and rapidly formed hand seals with both hands. Her eyes had captured every detail when Shimura Danzō performed his ninjutsu earlier.

"Wind Release: Vacuum Wave!"

As though possessed by Shimura Danzō, Chinatsu unleashed the same ninjutsu. A barrage of Vacuum Waves hurtled toward him. He drove his aging body into a series of swift evasions, while Chinatsu drew in a deep breath and spat a Great Fireball Technique toward his predicted landing point.

The fierce fireball struck the ground near Shimura Danzō. He burst out of the sea of flames, gripping a kunai wrapped in chakra.

Chinatsu immediately formed hand seals again. Dozens of her shadow clones shot out amid puffs of white smoke, closing in to clash with Shimura Danzō.

Shimura Danzō frowned. His blade rose and fell, cutting down one of Chinatsu's shadow clones with every strike. Yet after finishing off her clones, he had lost track of her real body.

Where is she?

Shimura Danzō turned his head and scanned his surroundings. Under cover of the white smoke left by the destroyed shadow clones, a flash of lightning suddenly erupted from within.

A thunderous sound like a thousand birds chirping reached Shimura Danzō's ears. He reacted immediately and turned toward it, only to find Chinatsu already charging at him with violently crackling chakra lightning in her hand.

Sorry, Kakashi! I borrowed the ninjutsu you invented, but I'll pay you royalties later!!!

Wielding her still-imperfect Chidori, Chinatsu swiftly thrust at Shimura Danzō. With keen reflexes, he shielded his vital areas, and her Chidori only pierced the left side of his waist.

Her momentum carried Chinatsu nearly a hundred meters farther before she finally stopped. Drops of cold sweat clung to her face. Though her surprise attack had pierced Shimura Danzō's left side, that hardly meant she had won.

An abnormal change took place in the pierced left side of Shimura Danzō's waist. It wasn't healing or regeneration. It simply returned directly to the state it had been in before being pierced.

Izanagi!

A Sharingan wielder could use Izanagi to erase unfavorable events that occurred within a certain period, making them as though they had never happened, while allowing only favorable events to become reality.

The price was that the Sharingan would go blind after use.

This was one of the Sharingan's two forbidden secret techniques!

"Interesting. There really is more to you than meets the eye. Though you're only a Chunin, your strength is certainly above that of most Jonin. Underestimating you really does come at a terrible price."

Each use granted him around a minute of "invincibility," meaning Shimura Danzō had ten minutes of invincibility in total. Even without any particularly powerful offensive ninjutsu, those ten minutes were a deadly threat.

For someone like him to have been killed in the original story by Sasuke, who had only just awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan, there had more or less been some plot-driven convenience involved.

Chinatsu watched Shimura Danzō warily. Fortunately, she had an advantage of her own: she knew his trump cards, while he knew nothing of hers.

She would defeat a stronger opponent from a weaker position, turning his arrogance against him to deliver a fatal blow at the most crucial moment.

Chinatsu took a deep breath, her Three-Tomoe Sharingan a vivid crimson.

Seeing Chinatsu like this, Shimura Danzō suddenly froze for a moment. She had reminded him of Shisui Uchiha.

"You siblings really are interesting. An intriguing idea just occurred to me. Suddenly, I no longer feel like killing you."

A smile spread across Shimura Danzō's face. At that moment, a new idea had come to him.

Killing Chinatsu would merely remove a potential threat and give him two Three-Tomoe Sharingan. A gain, but not a great one. Besides, even if Chinatsu were gone, there was still that brat at the Uchiha Residence. Getting rid of him wouldn't be easy.

Don't kill her. Make this girl one of my own.

That would kill two birds with one stone, allowing him to control the sister-obsessed brat as well. If these two children grew up, married, and allowed the Uchiha Clan to take root and flourish again, he could even secretly control the entire clan.
