Background / History

Surviving the Uchiha Massacre

Sasuke witnesses Itachi’s massacre of their clan and is spared after his brother urges him to live through hatred. During their confrontation, the apparently dead Chinatsu rises from the ground. Once Sasuke recognizes her, he tries helplessly to stop her bleeding and pleads with her not to leave him alone. He later falls asleep beside her hospital bed, still murmuring that she must not die 1.

At the hospital, Sasuke notices that Chinatsu’s behavior differs from the elegant sister he remembers, but attributes the change to the massacre. He retrieves clothes for her despite villagers’ gossip about his family’s destruction. When he finds a masked visitor in her room, he shields her and demands that the stranger leave. Training Under Chinatsu

After returning to the Uchiha Residence, Sasuke throws himself into training rather than remaining inactive in despair. Personality

Sasuke’s attachment to Chinatsu is central to his behavior after the massacre. Nevertheless, he recognizes his own weakness: rather than wandering outside and potentially creating trouble for her, he waits at the residence entrance for her return 3 9.

He is proud of the Uchiha name and intensely competitive. His revenge goal pushes him to train beyond ordinary expectations, but comparisons with Itachi and Chinatsu can make him doubt his talent. He willingly asks Chinatsu to continue even when her training leaves him battered and exhausted 4 15.

His reserved manner often conceals consideration for others. He claims not to be waiting for Naruto while slowing down so Naruto can catch up, and reluctantly helps him learn cloning. He also accepts correction: after learning Naruto’s history, he openly acknowledges his prejudice rather than defending it 10 18 21.
