Gaara clutched his head with both hands, looking as though he were thinking, Even my mom never hit me! His mother really had never hit him, though, because she had tragically died giving birth to him.

It was his mother's death, the instability of the tailed beast sealed inside him, and one little incident in his childhood that had made Gaara what he was now.

Because of the One-Tail, Shukaku, Gaara was constantly harassed and had to stay awake at all times to avoid being overtaken by him. He could never sleep.

Naruto, however, was different. The Nine-Tails inside him was imprisoned by the Uzumaki Clan's Sealing Jutsu. Forget harassing his host-even with every ounce of his strength, the Nine-Tails couldn't budge the cage that held him.

At that moment, Gaara stared at Chinatsu while she leisurely waved the hand she had just smacked him with. She continued casually, "I know you haven't slept in a long time. I also know your head is always buzzing, and the guy inside you keeps interfering with you. That's why you look like you can't stand anyone. But~ I should be able to help you."

"What!!!"

The moment Gaara heard Chinatsu say she should be able to help him, his expression changed.

Surprise... doubt... joy...

Gaara pressed his lips together, about to say that it was impossible, but Chinatsu acted first. She slipped behind Naruto and pushed him forward as though she were showing off a product.

Chinatsu: "Take a look. You're a Jinchūriki, and so is he. Look how lively he is. Do you still think it's impossible?"

Gaara couldn't help freezing at those words. He was sleepy, not blind. Even he could sense the difference between them.

Why? Why? Why?

We're both vessels for monsters, so why are we so different...?
